This fight was close enough that I didn't have a problem with it going either way...

It did look like Wright was in control for a lot of the time though.

I scored it for Wright 7-5.

More importantly, does anyone else see Winky trying to figure out which style to operate in? Sometimes he is trying the defensive matrix jab style, and other times he is trying to be Mr. Slick, with good movement, and he is trying to dodge punches.

I always felt like Wink won or it was at the least a Draw...but I guess since Vargas ahd the belt The close decision goes with the n00b...unless you're Hopkins...Taylor didn't win their first fight.

Winky can't figure out what to do with out being hit by Vargas. It was a close fight but Vargas won fair and square.

When does a challenger win in a close fight?

It is said, "you have to take the title from the Champion."

Winkys laid back style against Vargas didn't cut it.

???The only rounds when Vargas was hitting Winky consistently were 10 and 12.....and Wink pretty much took those 2 rounds off.....

It was Vargas who was desperate to make a big immpression...

Just to recall how mentally strong Vargas is, he had a court date the following Monday after his fight. I belive at the time it was if he was going to jail or not.

I agree though... it is an absolute travesty that Vargas beat Wright in the history books. Vargas won it fair and square, you are right. But considering the careers these two ended up having, this result is a travesty.
