Winkys lack of power is the only reason he isn't undefeated.....Shame I read he was and is mostly right handed but boxes lefty.

Why would you call it a travisty considering what Vargas has given to boxing?
Winky isn't much better of a fighter then Vargas prime. Who has more fans Vargas or Winky? Vargas by a mile.Comment

The Hopkins fight is next on my list, so I haven't seen it yet...
But I heard that it was a close but decisive victory for Hopkins. Is that true?
I heard the other 3 losses and the draw were bull****, but...
Anyways, whoever the announcer for this just said "Another edition of HBO Boxing After Dark."
That seems very strange considering this is ESPNClassic. Usually they Joe Tessitore and either Joe Mesi or ICEMAN JOHN SCULLY do the honors of recommentating.Comment

Ohhh I dunno.....it's about longevity and quality...Wink Has had a better career since this fight than Vargas whole career...and Wink was 39-2 when this fight took place.Comment

Well, looks like I caught someone on their soapbox issue.
I would call it a travesty, considering Vargas lost to nearly every single elite fighter he faced, and all the elites that he beat were by a controversial decision, such as Wright, Quartey, etc.
Wright, on the other hand has only had close losses, never been KO'd, absolutely dominated Trinidad, had 2 wins over Mosley...
Which career is better?
I think it is a travesty because the judges might have been expecting a dominant showing from Vargas, so they might have been seeing him doing more than he was doing.
I have seen it before... Harold Lederman gave the first round of Hopkins-Trinidad to Trinidad, when there was no basis for doing so... I think he was expecting Trinidad to do a lot, so he saw it happening more than it really was.
If you think I'm wrong, we could put up a poll, and see how many people agree with me that Winky did more in this fight.Comment
