People used to say the same thing about RJJ. When you are head and shoulders above the rest and you KNOW IT why the hell would you be scared to fight someone you don't feel is as good as you?

Difference being there was a dearth of talent at 160 (besides a rel green Hopkins) and at 168, and Roy was way above everyone. There is a ton of talent at welterweight and Floyd is not "head and shoulders" above them all.

          Is this thread serious???

He is about to fight Ricky Hatton. One of the guys everyone said he was ducking. This is getting ridiculous. You can't tell me that Castillo, Judah, De La Hoya, Corrales, etc. have no chance at winning a fight. He did Baldomir a favor by fighting him. Baldomir's family probably is appreciative of that oppurtunity cuz they are MILLIONAIRES now.

Back to Hatton...thnx to Hatton we know PBF has some pride. Hatton challenged PBF with some trash talking. That's all it really takes to get him in the ring. Hatton tries to play the humble role but c'mon if you are an athlete then you know a lil bit about the trash-talk game and that it works.

Hatton is undefeated and he is a prime fighter. No one really knows if he is in his prime until the whole career is over. But would yall say Hatton a bum??? Is Mayweather fighting a bum on Dec 8. Is he ducking a great fighter?

A 34 year old Oscar with 2 losses in his last 4 fights and one fight in three years against a past it Mayorga, not really the biggest risk in the world. DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!

Kostya = Tszyu was going to fight Mayweather had he beat Hatton but Hatton beat Tszyu so Mayweather is fighting the fighter who beat Tszyu.

Casamayor = Not really sure why this fight never happened but can you show me proof where Mayweather ducked Casamayor ??

Freitas = Freitas never wanted to fight Mayweather.

Margarito = How would Margarito make Mayweather's resume any better ??

Cotto = He could have Cotto's name on his record its too early to say isn't it ??

Mosley = He would have got his shot had he beat Cotto he didn't so he doesn't get his shot simple.

And the other 2 names he is fighting if he beats Hatton right ?? so i don't understand some of these other names ?? because its much too early to say.

I think you missed the point. I think the point is, how could he have gone from 130-154, claim he has fought the best and never have fought any of the guys on this list.
