    Why not?

but isn't Paul Williams promoted by Top Rank?
    No he isn't.

    SO...

Cotto OF COURSE should not fight Margarito...

There are SO MANY other better fights...

First, he may fight winner of PBF-Hatton - it's a DONE DEAL, isn't it? Whoever wins, they WILL DIE for Cotto fight...

Next, he can fight De La Hoya - ALL boxing fans are EAGER to see Golden Grandpa Circus again...

Last, he can fight winner of Cintron-Williams for TWO belts... Although by the time they have finished, there will be a MANDATORY challenger for IBF crown...

Did I say "last"? I was certainly wrong. There are plenty of much more worthy fighters than Tony. E.g. Urkal rematch if the fights mentioned above won't come.

Cotto shouldn't be forced to leave Arum to get this fight, he is more than deserving. Oscar was feuding with Arum and he didn't use that excuse to not fight Vargas. Don't qote me on this but isn't Paul Williams promoted by Top Rank? Ican't quite remember but if thats the case, than why is he willing to consider Williams and not Cotto based on what you are saying? Once again don't quote that but for some reason I thought Williams was promoted by Top Rank, I will have to make sure.
I THINK HES PROMOTED BY DAN GOOSEN PROMOTIONS.I THINK

Because of bad relation's with his ex-boss Arum, because PBF has much to loose - fighter is just as good as his last fight, because boxing needs Cotto more than PBF, so Floyd barely can win Cotto on points... But he can't KO Cotto either, it's KOtto who can pull out KO victory.

I understand that he doesnt really want to work with Arum( who is a scumbag) but the fight can still be made Whether boxing need Cotto, maywather or not!!!

So whats so wrong if Mayweather/Cotto end up in favour of a Mayweather UD? Its not like Cotto is KO'in everybody in sight..He just UD mosley himself.

Am not into hate one fighter for the other, I just want to see great fight, Different styles match and decent scraps in the ring.

Just re-watch Whitaker-Chavez... Latino boxing idol with crowd-pleasing style and huge ethnic fan base cannot loose to a feather-fisted stylist by default.

Am from England but love boxing enough to appreciate both side of the sport and not piss on any individual style, Last time i check Whitaker/Chavez was named the "Robbery of the century" on Ring magazine.

Whitaker beat/Trash chavez in a boxing clinic in front of his own Texas fan and for the fight to be called a draw and still nominated as a Robbery say a lot.

there is an interview where he said he would fight mosley if he wins but he wont fight cotto if he wins. the man is a coward and its plain and basic common sense. let two warrior like margarito and cotto fight each other and forget about mayweather. cotto is the only big money fight out there for him and he dont want it.

I would like to see the interview and know why in the world he wouldnt take a fight with cotto, I know he doesnt want to work with Arum just like Oscar de la hoya before him but they need to put aside there differences and make the fight if he comes through Hatton..And no matter what he does i wouldnt call someone that takes a punch for a living a coward.

I hate Margarito's guts, but I'd love to see this fight as it would be all action from bell to bell. I'd give Margarito a great shot to beat Cotto as well. Sign this fight, I wanna see it way more than Cotto/Trackweather. Cotto/Hatton would be exciting though. Anything as long as Trackweather is not involved.
