Margarito was beat hands down by Clottey and lost to Paul Williams decisively. Cotto has the upperhand here till Margarito proves himself once more. Miguel cotto has the opportunity to make to some big fights for him self now.
Pure silliness. Marg's fight with Clottey was very close. Both guys were hurt, so let's not even assume the excuse of an injury for Clottey. Margarito is a big fight for Cotto. Margarito is still a top 5 welterweight, and although he may not be famous, he certainly would give Cotto a tougher fight than Judah...although I thought Judah showed big cajones in that bout.

Great fights were never made because of mentalities like yours. You know down deep inside that puerto rican heart of yours that Margarito isn't a smart foght for Cotto.

Put the titles or titles shots aside, it's a fight that STYLE wise would not make much sense. I get that.

Just don't use the excuse that margarito isn't good enough because he lost to an akward fighter, that is long and tall and will give ANYONE trouble.

You are right in saying he doesn't deserv a shot and maybe one day he will get that shot but as a pure boxing FAN, I would just love to see that fight because it would be a war between two proud, young, good fighters.
No, not stylewise, Margarito has nothing to offer, he could've fought Cotto last Saturday or on Cotto's last fight, he blew it and now bringing back the "most avoided fighter in the division" argument. Needs to stop winning and stop trippin. I got a feeling thou that Margarito will earn his shot sooner than later. Or should all of a sudden Cotto turn a Oscar or PBF fight to fight Margarito? Think about it...

Cotto has better options than Margarito right now.

        1. Oscar ($$$)
        2. Hatton/Floyd winner
        3. Cintron-Williams winner (2 belts)

But if Arum pays Cotto the right amount, I could see the fight happening.

cotto doesn't need a margarito fight, although i admit it would be exciting. cotto should go for the winner of hatton/mayweather or williams/cintron.

Cotto needs to do everything in his power to get a fight with Floyd. All he needs to do is start talking **** about Floyd, it worked for hatton.

Cotto is really building that resume isn't he?
If this fight happens I believe Cotto knocks out Margarito with a body shot.
              I'm usually right on predictions.

Do you guys really think there's enough money in a Margarito fight?

Cotto has a contract where he makes a guaranteed $3M per fight. Do you really think Margarito will take the fight for $500,000? I don't think his pride will allow him to take the fight making 1/6th of what Cotto will be making.

The big difference between Hatton and Cotto is the promotional teams. Mayweather Promotions is getting a good slice of the pie in the Hatton fight along with some needed experience. If Floyd fought Cotto, then that piece of **** scumbad Bob Arum is going to be getting paid. If Cotto drops Arum like Floyd did to get the Oscar fight, then I think the fight could be made with ease. Arum is going do or die with Mayweather with all the **** he's talking. Either Floyd is gonna turn HIM (Arum) down and have Bob call him scared or Cotto is gonna do his own thing and leave Bob Arum.

W ell if Foyd refuses tofight him which more than likely will happen and he can't get Oscar I guess he has to fight who is willing to fight. All he can do is keep fighting everyone else until there is enough heat on Floyd he can't refuse. There already should be enough heat on him, but he will avoid this fight at all costs.

Thats the problem the boxing public is the ones that are getting ****ed because of this. Floyd being the supposed P4P #1 needs to let go of that excuse and fight Cotto because he supposedly wants to define his legacy, if he really wanted this fight he could make it happen. Cotto shouldn't be forced to leave Arum to get this fight, he is more than deserving. Oscar was feuding with Arum and he didn't use that excuse to not fight Vargas. Don't qote me on this but isn't Paul Williams promoted by Top Rank? Ican't quite remember but if thats the case, than why is he willing to consider Williams and not Cotto based on what you are saying? Once again don't quote that but for some reason I thought Williams was promoted by Top Rank, I will have to make sure.
