    Funny excerpt in this breakdown..

[*]This is a great match up that pits a young lion versus the old lion. The question in this fight is if Shane Mosely can go a hard 12 rounds against a young, skilled and in his prime champion in Miguel Cotto. When I look at this fight, I give Shane Mosely the advantage in general boxing skills, power, hand speed, foot speed, defense, experience, and chin. Cotto's advatages going into this fight are his youth and Shane Mosely's natural aggression and competetiveness. If Shane Mosley boxes Cotto from the outside and uses his huge advatages in hand and foot speed, I think he wins a comfortable unanimous descision. However, we all know Shane will not run from Cotto and look to dent the champions suspect whiskers. Shane Mosely only gets beat by fighters that are tall, long with good jabs who have a mutiplicty of skills. Last time I checked, Cotto was a short welterweight with shaky whiskers that got hit a lot. The pick here is Shane Mosely by TKO in the 10th.

      Yeah, well.

The guys who Mosley lost to are ****ing huge for their weights, lmao. I don't know what type of growth spurt Wright hit and why he bulked up to a damn what looks like cruiserweight, and how in the hell Forrest made 147.

Forrest is a big man. He's not a rail like Paul Williams is. He should easily be fighting at 160. That's probably his weight class.

But ya'll are basing this observation primarily on Vernon Forrest. Winky was different. He just waded in and out boxed Shane because Shane could not hurt him. This is instructive for me because I perceive that Shane may have problems with constant pressure if he cannot break it down. And, as we all know, Cotto is a pressure cooking SOB. That means that alot of emphasis must be placed on Cotto's suspect chin. I'm not so convinced it's weak. Cotto has never been knocked out even when getting clubbed by that knockout machine, Ricardo Torres.

He has trouble with fighters that are taller and naturally bigger then him. Anyone who can't nullify Mosley's offense with footwork or sheer durability, usually ends up gettin tore up. I wish Cotto would have waited for Mayweather before takin this fight, cause I think if Cotto hangs around on the inside like he does, he'll get caught by Mosley, who's probably going to be the strongest fighter Cotto's faced.

This may be the point, but it's also no coincidence that these are the best fighters he's ever faced by far. Vargas was taller than him too.

Vargas hasn't been durable since his kneck snapped against Tito, his kneck is basically jelly now, and his body moves like a 45 year old. In the second Oscar fight, Oscar was too big for Mosley to put up one of his convincing W's, plus you got Forrest who wasnt only bigger and stronger, but he was young and durable aswell. Winky, well Shane might as well have been throwin g****s at an elephant that lol, Wright was beyond durable.

Stronger than Ricardo Torres? I'm not sure that Shane hits harder than that kid. Winky sure as hell doesn't, IMO. Cotto's defense is not Winky's for sure though. Man, it's a tough fight to call. I just can't get around Cotto's youth and determination. I have to agree that Cotto could have played it safer before he got his shot at Floyd, though. The problem is that Floyd seems like he won't be fighting Cotto no matter what happens, and of course, Floyd has to get by Hatton first. That's no small chore.

True, Vargas is a shell. But in the first Mosley fight and the second; right up until Shane landed that left hook he was taking some very good shots. His chin was holding up pretty damn well. He was also busting up Shane pretty good in the first fight. I was surprised looking at this again.. But yeah, Vargas is phantom of his former self.

Yeah, he turned it on later in the first fight, you saw glimpses of what he use to be in those moments.
