he may be too fast for hopkins now because his a 42 years old but hopkins in his prime would out smart out box calzaghe. calzaghe exposes himself with those wide puches hopkins will school him if he did that. i gurantee you hopkins will expose calzaghe during the fight.

My mama done told me - if you can't say something nice about a person, say nothing at all. With that in mind, I don't have remain silent about Calzaghe, because there are actually two nice things I can say about him:
      1. He's undefeated.
      2. He's handsome.
      There you have it...

Why couldnt Kessler make him pay when he missed? I believe Calzaghe chooses his moments when to throw such wide punches, knowing he is opponent isnt in the right position to counter.

Calzaghe very rarely gets punished for making such mistakes. Against Kessler he was only hit with uppercuts and the occasional right hand.

I dont see how anyone could ever really 'school' Calzaghe. Only chance to beat him is to KO him, and Hopkins cannot.

the way hopkins fights he nullifies his opponent look what he did to trinidad and tarver. if calzaghe had good coerdination and he would beat hopkins. but with those wide ***** slaps hopkins will duck and move then counter. what ever the outcome calzaghes style does not impress me and after last nights performance i was not satisfied. if i were to introduce someone to boxing i sure wouldnt show him calzaghe fights or style. you cant be impressed by a ***** slapper

Trinidad and Tarver are nothing like Calzaghe.

And Bernard Hopkins is nothing like Lacy or Kessler. When Bernard doesn't want to get hit, he usually doesn't get hit. Joe Calzaghe winning by "outworking him" is a simplistic and unrealistic viewpoint. It's not that easy.

believe he is theres to be exposed as kessler showed in the first 4 rounds.
The fight is 12 rounds. Kessler had some success early but over twelve rounds he lost handily.

hopkins is a legend hopkins will easily expose calzaghe
If it takes a "legend" to "expose" somebody then they're not being "exposed". They are just that good that only a legend can cause them some problems. I suggest you invest in a good dictionary.

he may be too fast for hopkins now because his a 42 years old but hopkins in his prime would out smart out box calzaghe.
Hopkins "in his prime"? When was that exactly? Was it when he was losing to Roy Jones Junior? Was it when he was fighting one unheralded "contedner" after another? Was it when he was beating up former junior welters and featherweights? No, I'll give you your answer: Hopkins is in his prime right now. He is at the peak of his game, he has just had his most important win by beating Tarver. I'd be a fool to deny Hopkins' ability but he doesn't have some mythical prime in which he was unbeatable.

By even talking about his "prime" you are basically hedging your bets against Calzaghe beating him. "Oh well, in his prime it wouldn't have happened like that". Why not grow a pair and think of a fighter you think can beat Calzaghe now?

I suspect it is because you know little about the sport of boxing and the only fighters you know of are ones who have appeared on the front cover of a video game.

Calzaghe is kind of like Bovril you either hate him or you love him.

For me I was undecided whether Joe could take the punching power of Kessler and I was surprised to see his chin was up to scratch, This is a fight that proved to me that Joe is the best in the weight division and not only that but is the best fighter to come out of great Britain in a long time.

I know the haters are saying he slaps and what not but for a slapper he has knocked out a hell of a lot of good fighters.

So unless I see otherwise I'm jumping on the Calzaghe bandwagon

I never really cared for Calzaghe. He's fun to watch because he gets hit and when he gets hit he comes back strong, but I was never much of a fan. I find myself pulling for him because of the tremendous amount of hatred he gets on this site. I think it's because he is A. British and B. Good. He's enough of a threat to (some) American's superiority complexes that he awakens their ire. If he was really some Eurobum waiting for exposage then he wouldn't make nearly so many people feel nearly so angry.

So I neither love him nor hate him. I do like Bovril though.
