This is why he's an all time great. Even Ray Robinson couldn't do that, **** that, not even Harry Houdini could do that ****.

I agree Hopkins still has something left. His 2 losses to Taylor were questionable, if not damn close, his early career loss to a prime RJJ nothing to be ashamed of, his other loss, a close 4 rd dec in his first fight, definitely forgivable. He's never been knocked out and he's still in great shape, with amazing ring knowledge. Why not keep fighting?

Add in some headbutts, hip punches, and crisp counter right hands and Hopkins would outpoint him.

If the fight is made official, I'm looking your way for a bet.
Did you miss the Lacy exhibition? JC far to smart for B-Hop.

Lacy, while highly regarded was also highly unproven. Howard Eastman is a better fighter than Jeff Lacy. And Hopkins has a bunch of guys on his record that were cut from the same cloth as Lacy. Kessler is Joe's biggest victory, and the one I'd point to if I were backing Calzaghe.

bernard is dirty i didn't see him do anything to winky except clinch low blow and head butt.he waits till the 8th round to fight and even then he's not really throwng that many punches he just gets more aggresive he doesn't land that many punches and i think that joe will make bernard fight the whole fight 1-12 and i don't think bernard could fight for 12 rounds against an oppenent thats gonna come forward and throw alot of punches and could take a punch.

It's quite obvious to me from reading a few posts the past couple of days that there's a little bit of jealousy in some people still. People can no longer say he's a bum etc because it would make them look ******, but they can be more clever about it.

Then when Hopkins took his ass to school and dominated him it was no longer about how great Tarver was prior, but how ****ty he was.

He was overweight for the "Rocky Balboa" movie, he didn't train enough, he took Hopkins lightly, and best of all, he was "poisoned".

And it was Wright who wanted to move up for Hopkins, not Hopkins begging Wright to come fight him.
your right alot of people did think bernard was going to lose agianst tarver mainly because people thought tarver was to big for hopkins most people knew that bernard was the better boxer just wasn't sure about the weight issue.i always thought tarver was a little overrated

I've always hated Tarver, but I like him for KO'ing Jones' dumbass for me. Other than that I can do without him.

bernard is fairly unactive and is old. how would his 42 year odl body cope with a fast fight with someonel iek joe? fighting at your own pace with someone quite abit smaller than you is not hard.

fighting soemoen fairly big as you with fast hands and good stamina is another test.

losing twice to taylor, whom i htink joe can beat.

beating howard eastman is okay. beaitng tarver is good but he is overated with a jones win. jones didnt step up to a big name fighter i guess.

yes bernard has the resume but its not 100% the best. he is also kinda fighting once a year so maybe rusty if he had to brawl.

It's the defense. It doesn't matter if Hopkins is fighting bigger or smaller men, it's his style and defense that makes it his fight. Every movement he does in the ring is to offset you, catch you off guard, catch you off balance, etc....

Hopkins will do much better than expected against Calzaghe.
