Hopkins will beat Calzaghe

It's quite obvious to me from reading a few posts the past couple of days that there's a little bit of jealousy in some people still. People can no longer say he's a bum etc because it would make them look ******, but they can be more clever about it.

It's the defense. It doesn't matter if Hopkins is fighting bigger or smaller men, it's his style and defense that makes it his fight. Every movement he does in the ring is to offset you, catch you off guard, catch you off balance, etc....

Hopkins will do much better than expected against Calzaghe.

I agree, but your post is rather disingenious. IMO by the time this fight comes to fruition, it will be around 50-50 and Hopkins may even be the favorite. Hopkins is a master boxer and his wins against Trinidad and De La Hoya are masterpieces. He is HOF and one of the ATGs.

Now, having said that....IMO Calzaghe will win.

I label Hopkins too old for this fight, and if he did pull an upset up and beat Calzaghe. Well, it would probably destroy anything credible on his resume because American fight fans are ****s like that. But I can't see old hopkins beating Calzaghe. Calzaghe knows how dirty old ass hopkins will fight and he won't let him fight that fight to win. Plus, this fight kind of sucks because the last fight I saw hopkins in was the crappiest fight I have ever seen. The biggest bore-fest in the world, can hopkins make this fight a boring one too? And Hopkins wasn't always boring because I found him entertaining in the tarver fight. I just think Hopkins should have retired by now.

the tarver fight is not that entertaining there is not that many punches bein landed or thrown and tarver is a overrated thats why bernard was able to use his movment to catch him out of position and off balance he will never be able to do that against joe so he will try to use the same tactic he did against winky which is to head butt and clinch your opponent to try and neutrilize them and i don't think that will work against joe

I don't think anyone is saying Hopkins is a bum, they're just giving reasons why Calzaghe would win, i.e. Hopkins is old, not active enough, etc.
