OK. Great example: as beloved as JC Superstar was, and with Pernell never being a particularly commercial fighter, you would have thought that they would put the fight in a Mexican soccer stadium and get 50,000 gate. The World Awaits is a BIG Exception. We're talking about International fighters now where boxing has become more popular in countries like Mexico, UK, Canada, Philipinnes, Germany, Russia. HBO if they want money in those market they'll have to share some of the profits just like any other TV station going abroad to broadcast a sporting event.
No. They put it CLOSE to Mexico, and still got a big gate... BUT KEPT THAT **** DOMESTIC.
Why were no Lennox Lewis fights set in London's Wembley?
Why is Pacquiao fighting in Vegas?
Why does Trinidad fight in the US?Comment

I could be wrong on why Joe didn't stay with him in the 12th.Let me preface my post by saying this: Calzaghe's performance in the middle to late rounds was incredible....
However, I was kinda dissapointed on how bad he looked in the 12th round. Kessler was obviously pressing as hard as he could and seemed to really take Joe outa his rythmn and make him look vulnerable. Did anyone else get this impression?...
Kesslers' uppercuts stunned Joe by his own admission, where Lacy never hurt joe, and was easier to deal with in rd 12, than Kessler was...So joe knew he had enough rds won to claim victory, so he played it safe= wise move if so

Well then your point is moot, KJ. You said that a young Calzaghe had more power than Toney, right? Well then back that up. Evidence is more powerful than excuses.Comment

Lennox Lewis was neither Jamaican, nor Canadian, nor British. That';s why he didn;t have muhc of a great following. How about Naseem, Eubank, Benn, Hatton, etc.OK. Puerto Rico is part of the U.S no?
Pacman has fought in the philippines but he got established in the USComment

Watch his early fights.
It wouldn't matter anyway, Joe is way too mobile, too fast, too busy, too diverse, and too slick for Toney; it's a bad matchup for Toney. He'd win as easily as Jones did.Comment

Dude,
You don't understand business. Businesses principally outsource to reduce their cost structures. For examples: call centers, customer support, mortagge servicing, manufacturing, production, third-party logistics, etc.
Those are done to increase margins.
HOW IN THE **** WILL YOU INCREASE MARGINS IN THIS INSTANCE?
This is a completely different example, you ****in dropout.Comment

Nunn and Jirov were textbook? Nobody beats the piss out of Toney he fights up to his competition. It would be close no matter what. Not sure how Nunn would of done against Zag. southpaw vs. southpaw. I cant remember Zag fighting any notable southpaws. If he fights Tarver or Dawson and wins convincingly then I would be able to judge. But at the moment I would probably take Nunn in that matchup.
And I do think Zag would beat the piss out of Toney at 168. I've always felt he was overated. He looks outstanding against textbook fighters....but Zag sure as hell is not textbook.Comment
