Ike was probably a better overall fighter he also had very good footwork.
if ike could last 12 rounds taking shots from tua when he was inexperienced there is no reason to believe he couldn't last 12 rounds with vitali.
Its a shame they never got the chance to fight each other it would have been a cracking fight what ever the outcome.
its hard to see cause VK's toughest fight was Corrie Sanders other then that he hasnt had anyother trouble with anyone else

at vitali never losing a fight.

apparently in klitschko-land, being healthy enough to finish a prize fight is not an attribute of a fighter.

vitali fans, good for a laugh, but little else.

having 14 KOs out of 20 wins doesnt mean anything to me. having all KOs except for one in all your career sounds awesome, but in reality it doesnt really mean anything. besides, that KO percentage would have gone down if you counted his losses anyway. Even if Vitali didnt quit(his choice, his injury was a serious one) he would have won a decision.

and Byrd just didnt like Ike for some reason. I mean, Byrd was complaining about the ref calling a knockdown on him after he took a monsterous shot.

I really cant say who would win. Ike never really got a chance to develope and we never saw him against someone like Vitali.

for one, ike had 15 kos in 20 fights.

second, who cares? 75% isn't a bad ratio.

thru 20 pro fights, these guys had this many kos:

            larry holmes: 15
            sonny liston: 11
            michael spinks: 14
            ray leonard: 13
            jake lamotta: 3
            eusebio pedroza: 11

and these guys were great fighters.

having a ko percentage of "only" 75% means **** all.

naw beez, i was telling Wlad Blows that jus cause Byrd and Lewis were losing to Quitali but beat him doesn't mean it don't count. Brewster was bein beat and then beat vitali, pavlik was bein beat but then beat Jermain.

Yeah I don't see how a slow, plodding, significantly shorter man who throws 1 jab at a time and follows up with Rahman type combos is going to deal with Vit.

LOL You do realize he's 6 inches taller and would just ****ing jab and right hand Ibeabuchi to death? What's Ike going to do? Knock Vitali out?

He didn't have a punch hard enough for that. Lewis hit him with maybe the hardest uppercut ever thrown by a HW in any fight, ever.

People ****ing forget how big those guys are.

And people need to get off Ike's jock strap. It's ******ed.

He beat a blown up middleweight and robbed a prime slugger of a win. Outside of that he didn't do ****. Also..........why were people impressed? lol.

All he did was plod forward and throw jabs. Nothing exciting about his style.

Are you ****in ******, technically Vitali lost twice, but they weren't REAL losses. Vitali's arm came out of his socket and he had to retire while he was ahead 9-0 on the scorecards, do you think Byrd considers that a real win. Against Lewis Vitali's eye got cut up early and he was still beating Lewis 4-2 on the scorecards, he showed incredible heart and he would've KO'd Lewis in the 7th IMO. Vitali has never lost a decision or been knocked out, so shut the **** up you jealous Klitschko hater.
