Against Lewis Vitali's eye got cut up early and he was still beating Lewis 4-2 on the scorecards, he showed incredible heart and he would've KO'd Lewis in the 7th IMO. Vitali has never lost a decision or been knocked out, so shut the **** up you jealous Klitschko hater.
So how the **** did his eye get cut? By one of those uppercuts Lewis was throwing. You cant say "Oh he got lucky because Lewis punched him there" The cut was caused by a punch lewis threw on vitali's face therefore the fight was stopped as Lewis was making that cut worse by uppercuts.

Ibeabuchi also set an individual record for punches thrown in a heavyweight fight: 975 punches.

      His workrate was awesome.

        who won the fight?

i would say winning the fight (without the judges/ref being blind or paid off) means you can compete and deal with your opponent?

prime ike vs wlad is really a hard one to call in my opinion. obviously I could see ike making wald unravel and taking him out. but then again,,,ike hasnt fought anyone his size with ability and his defense wasnt that good. who's to say wlad wouldnt get there first? I think ike would have had more trouble hitting wlad then wlad would him. ike had a seemingly good chin,,but then again,,the only puncher he faced was tua and tua always had trouble knocking out bigger men. even rahman went nearly 20 rounds with tua in 2 fights. sucks ike had to self destruct. seeing him against lewis or the klits would have been great for boxing

the fact is,, byrd always struggled mightily against bigger opponents with skill. wlad and ike knocked him out. even an over the hill golota fought him to a draw and deserved the win in my opinion and the limited mccline nearly defeated him

              that's better worded.

saying byrd struggles against bigger guys makes more sense than "he can't deal with big skilled guys". not dealing with them makes it sound like he always loses in dominant fashion.

yea,,that was a bit of an overstatement on my part. "struggles with" is the better phrase

Wlad Blows doesn't understand alot of things in life. A few to mention racism and boxing. Saying Vitali's losses weren't REAL losses is ****** and shows how much knowledge he has.

Good post. Ike certainly showed excellent skills and important intangibles in the ring, but one really can't say what would happen when he faced a man as large as Vitali or Wlad.

Obviously I think he would have fared better against Wlad because Wlad showed he could be cracked, Vitali did not (unless it was his face splitting open).

One thing that did speak well of Ike along with all of his other traits was his ability to adapt in fights. That may have played into his favor when facing a much larger opponent.
