Miguel Cotto has god awful defense and he likes to block punches with his face. We all know Cotto has a big heart, but he is very chinny. Miguel Cotto is like a reincarnation of Jake LaMotta with an average chin and that's not a good thing. Malignaggi(a lesser opponent than Mosley) was able to land pillow punch combinations at will and he even staggered Cotto. Can you imagine what's going to happen when a hard puncher like Mosley lands combinations at will on Cotto. I like Cotto, but with his Jake LaMotta type style and terrible defense he is gonna get exposed badly and Shane Mosley is the guy to expose him. The Puerto Rican fans at MSG are gonna be in for a big surprise, but I really won't be surprised at all.

Cotto has a good defense when he boxes, he leaves his chin exposed when he brawls and a suspect chin at that.

Cotto isn't planning on boxing Mosley, he thinks he can come forward and steamroll Mosley. Cotto even said "nothing can stop me" like he is superman or something. Cotto is underestimating Mosley's power and he will leave his chin exposed when he comes forward and brawls with Mosley. Oh well, Cotto's below average defense is gonna help make me a lot of money on November 10.

If you know anything about boxing, you wouldn't have said those two things.

If you can find when Cotto was "staggered" against Malignaggi please post the video or state the round in which it happened.

Furthermore, if you classify Cotto's defense as "terrible" I am not sure which of his fights you have seen. He may not have remarkable defense, but it is definately not terrible. He is vulnerable when becomes offensive and that may be a clash when fighting Mosely, but it will be very entertaining to see.

Cotto walked into a Malignaggi punch in the 8th or 9th round and he staggered backwards, he was able to recover though.

Cotto may not have terrible defense, but it is below average IMO. He was getting hit a lot against Malignaggi,Judah,Torres,Abdulaev,Corley and Urkal. None of those guys are on Mosley's level, Mosley will easily get through Cotto's below average defense and hurt him badly.

This is between you gentleman but I will help you guys out.

Malignaggi did stagger Cotto. Every single time including the first I saw it.

Miguel recovered immediately as he usually seems to but his legs BUCKLED.

If Miguel allows Mosley to hit him with the 6-7 straight punches like the ones Malignaggi landed in that sequence it won't be pretty..

No, he didn't. What you saw was a clash of knees with Paulie landing a punch while Cotto was off balance. Even George Foreman and the other broadcasters said it was nothing but a balance issue after seeing the replay.

This is the thing about Cotto. Since he got so badly hurt by Corley, any questionable movement after a punch, and people are quick to assume he's hurt like what's happening here and what happened in the Judah fight.
