It wasn't a bad choice for Floyd, but he gets like no props for beating baldomir because there was NO hype aruond that guy and everyone knew the outcome. I guess he picked up some belts but the demand was there for a Margarito fight and he would have shut up more detractors at that point, and if he won he could of gone after dlh right after. That's the way i see it.

At the moment that both fights were presented to me, i wouldve fought Margarito. It was seen as a tougher challenge. Not to mention, there was much outcry from the boxing world for Floyd to fight Margarito. Even though Floyd fought Baldomir and beat him to obtain the WW lineal championship, Floyd didnt get much credit for that win. The #1pfp fighter in the world, just beat a 35yr old journeyman with 9 previous losses to win the titles. Far from a noteworthy win.

That's a good way fo phrasing it, I think he took the easy route, and regardless of how little you think of margarito, there was much more hype and a lot more to gain in terms of recognition from detractors which is where he needs to prove himself. Basically he would have gained more fans and recognition from people who weren't fans.

The way you put it, is you're asking what is the EASY way out.. and the answer is of course clear.....

If Mayweather is looking for EASY money and an EASY way out, he is fighting Baldy..

But to satisfy fans interest and solidify his legacy, he should have fought Margo..

Boxing is not about what's easier... or what's financially more rewarding...
It's about fighting the best! Than you're a legend
