Hopkins ****s all over Joe Calzaghe and any stable middle weight since Marvin Hagler. 20 title defenses, beat at least 3 hall of famers, fought four,punished a few stars, and totally cleaned out the middle weight division. No question that he's one of the best p4p fighters of the past decade and a lock for HOF. Opinions are like *******s and I don't care too much for them, especially considering that either way, he will mot definitely be inducted and there's nothing anyone can say to stop it.

How often did Bernard fight outside his home country?
I guess when you are the champ its up to the challengers to come to you eh?

Borenard has a resume loaded with smaller guys.
The only time he met World class fighters his own size he got beaten.

He only got away with his negative style because he never met anyone good enough to catch him.
His quality of opponents were simply average.
There were Big enough people for him to chase rather than boil his ass down to 160.
20 defences against WHO?
The best names he has made their fame at Welter and below.
THEY NEVER achieved ANYTHING at Middleweight.
Who did Tito & Oscar defeat at Middleweight to prove their worth as Middleweights?
3 of his so called defences were against Robert Allen......
He then movd up and beat an inactive Tarver who beat a shot RJJ.
To top it off he has just picked on another smaller guy in Winky Wright.

When you marry Hopkins opposition to true All time greats then you might wake up and smell the coffee.
People who compare his record to Hagler need to get a grip too.
Tito & Oscar are not Hearns & SRL.

In 50 years time I doubt anyone will be requesting any of his fights for download.
Maybe just the Tito fight at a push.

IF he had re-matched and beaten RJJ and gone up the ladder and defeated men his own size then the story might be different.

Those Hall of Famers were at least 13 pounds above their best weight class though. That's what I talk about when I say his record looks good on paper.

There is one thing that irritates me about Hopkins' growing legacy.

He DID NOT MAKE “20” DEFENSES. He made SIX successful defenses.

After becoming the undisputed champion he only made six defenses. The rest were meaningless alphabet defenses. He DID NOT break Monzon’s record. Monzon made 14 UNDISPUTED defenses. Hagler made 12 UNDISPUTED defenses. Joe Louis made 25 UNDISPUTED defenses.

He's barely in my top 10 MW's of all time. Roudning out at about number 8.

What say you guys?

Well i give more credit to Bhop than i do to Floyd. Since leaving 135, Floyd has made 0 (zero) title defenses.
