Why the **** do you hate Vitali so much, what did he ever do to you ?
I respect your opinion but I've got to disagree with Vitali being more skilled than Lewis. Lewis had alot more weapons that Vitali.

there it is. Kirk isnt exactly the scariest guy ever, he had lost to Ruiz not too long before and was somehow getting a title shot because he beat Lou Saverse or something...not to mention he ended up weighing a ton for the Vitali fight.

I think Vitali was in training for a fight when they called him up for the Lewis fight, right? thats why he got picked as a replacement, not to mention he was really highly rated by the belts.
who was he training for, i cant remember.

I think Lennox Lewis was bad against Vitali because he was a short notice opponent, he didn't actually train for him if I recall properly (I may be highly mistaken here), he was supposed to face someone else who Vitali ended up replacing on short notice and ended up doing well, I forget who it was but Lennox wasn't supposed to face him, his training camp wasn't so intense for an opponent like Vitali.. dig up the fight yo I don't think I'm wrong, dig up the fight and listen for any references to Vitali being a late replacement, it's either he was or I gotta stop smoking weed.. 1 or the other. 100

That was the Tyson fight. Lewis finally put the myth of Mike Tyson to bed (even though Mike was a shadow of his 80's peak). Lewis had nothing left to prove, to himself or the boxing public and as a result, under prepared and underestimated Klitschko.

What I meant was on that night Vitali was the more skilled fighter with the more accurate punches. Lewis obviously has more weapons than Vitali, but Vitali is a bad style matchup for him even in his prime. Lewis is more skilled than Vitali, but I think Wlad is more skilled than Lewis.

              ahha, found it yall.

CEDRIC BOSWELL LANDS SHOT AGAINST VITALI KLITSCHKO

INSIDE BOXING-May 06, 2003) - A few days ago it was announced that Vitali Klitschko would be fighting on the Lennox Lewis vs. Kirk Johnson undercard. Today, InsideBoxing.com makes it known who he will face and he could not have chosen a more dangerous opponent.

Finally, there is a heavyweight out there with the courage to take on rising star Cedric Boswell (21-0, 16 KOs). Its a done deal! Vitali Klitschko (32-1, 31 KOs), and viewed by many as the #1 heavyweight in the world, and the biggest threat to Lennox Lewis, will take on Boswell as part of the Lewis vs. Johnson card on June 21, 2003 at the Staple Center in Los Angeles, California.

I spoke to Cedric this afternoon and he is elated to have this opportunity to bring his talents to center stage.

"I am very excited about this fight and America is about to witness me break him off properly!"

Cedric is not convinced that Vitali is the best heavyweight in the world and is determined to show the boxing world that it is he who is the one that has the superior talent. Cedric stated that, "Corrie Sanders started the job with the Klitschko's and I am going to finish it."

Inside Boxing brought the boxing public's attention to Boswell last year in a story called "A HEAVYWEIGHT ON THE MOVE" and now the boxing public will be able to see why this heavyweight prospect is destine to become world champion.

We've been following Cedric's career and are very delighted to see this class act get this much deserved opportunity.

You will want to tune in to the double header of heavyweight action on June 21st to see this drama unfold.

              You have just gone insideboxing.com
so yea, Vitali was training for this undefeated guy, Lennox was training for Kirk Johnson. They were both scheduled to fight on the same night.

according to lewis's own trainor ,,lewis was breaking his own records in training camp and that he was in great shape. vits size and style gave him problems. end of story. vit was training for david boswell,,,so he was affetced every bit as much as lewis was preparing for kirk johnson

Lewis had problems because he was in the process of getting dominated for the first and only time in his life. Viteli had Lennox's number that night. You could see it happening right before your eyes. That giant horsecut was a very fortunate thing for Lennox.
