Great clip, Dave.Originally posted by DaveBrownAnd Oliveira ofcourse had never been stopped in his life. Hatton busted his eardrum so bad it was bleeding for weeks, as were his kidneys. Oliveira went into the Augustus fight as a man on his last legs after the beating Hatton gave him, he took the Augustus fight for money, (he's still partially deaf!).
Oliveira was a man who had broke CompuBox records for ammount of punches thrown, yet could barely get off a punch against Hatton!
Hatton is real.
I don't understand when certain Mayweatherite run down Oliveira and Urango as quality comp. They were quality. ****, Urango was 17 win, 1 draw, 13 KOs when he fought Hatton, if I remember correctly. He was no pushover, either.
I would have to say from the three criticised fights of Oliveira, Urango, and Collazo..that the Urango fight was Hatton's least impressive performance. He was clearly gassed at the end, although he fairly easily won the fight. Collazo on the other hand is a good fighter, I don't care what anybody says. That kid is big and slick. Hatton had problems, but just because it wasn't a blow out doesn't mean it was a crappy showing. I thought Hatton was friggin relentless in that fight, too. Just my opinion.Comment

Both Collazo and Urango were hurt badly by body punches, especially Urango. Urango had some success to the body in Round 5. In the Sixth Hatton came back to Urango's body, hard, with the net result that Urango stopped throwing combinations and didn't throw another body shot. Against Collazo Hatton won the inside battle frequently (hence he won the fight). Where Collazo was successful was in holding the centre of the ring and hitting Hatton from distance. Whenever Collazo was hustled back to the ropes he was losing, in the centre of the ring he did well, particularly in the 12th.
Neither Urango (who lost 11 rounds) nor Collazo had much success by countering Hatton with right hands as he went to the body, and those guys were southpaws making it harder to land the left hook and easy to counter with a right hook of their own.
The only guy who really had success with a right hand counter while Hatton went to the body was Eamon Magee, and that was once in the fight. Hatton dominated the rest of the fight.Comment

Hatton's dash is world class, he can get inside your gaurd with his fast feet and hands. He will witness someone with the handspeed to hit him while he dashes and the power to keep him honest. Floyd's power will suprise many in this fight who think he has powderpuff fists.Punching Hatton in the face, but we're talking about a truly world class body puncher. The power factor is going to be significant, and if Floyd's counters have enough on them to discourage Hatton from going to the body then he could be in trouble. So far however Hatton hasn't had too many issues over the course of a fight with right hands countering his left hook to the body.Comment

You know I'm starting to think there may be surprises all round here. Hatton surprising with his speed and Floyd surprising with his power.Hatton's dash is world class, he can get inside your gaurd with his fast feet and hands. Is it just me or have things started to get a lot more civilised on this forum? Have I logged on to the right website?Comment

Hatton is real.
Oliveira was a 9 loss journeyman....right? And he was 36 years old? End of career? Yet, you guys are (true to the Hattonian principles) hyping up the performance.
You guys criticize mayweather for fighting gatti... but hype up Hatton beating Oliveira. Unbelievable. Simply unbelievable.
SQUEAL... PLEASE NOTE.Comment

I think the Mayweatherites have learned that this fight is for real, and are starting to set aside the cavalier attitude. Civilized discourse would be infinitely preferable to the gang attack mentality I've been seeing for the last three weeks. Hopefully the heavy artillery shocked them into reality. I hope so.Comment
