Gatti-Ward 1 had that 9th round
That seriously has to be one of the most dramatic rounds in boxing history. I like other fights more than Gatti-Ward 1, but that 9th round was just insane. I dont think even the 10th of Castillo-Corrales is as good. it is on paper, but the whole mouthpiece business watered it down a little bit. seriously though, that 9th round felt like it was scripted. I feel like crying in happiness whenever I watch it. even the commentary was perfect.

man...I love boxing. so many great fights.

and people tend to remember big moments in fights more than continued action in fights. some people at least. they just stick out in those peoples' minds, and so thats how they remember the whole fight.

gatti-ward 1 is better than any of mayweather's fights (or his uncle's).

gatti-ward 1 is a great fight, it just isn't worthy of the excessive hype it gets over better fights. people need to broaden their horizons and see the other great fights which are superior, like the ones i named.

and to the person who said i left off chavez-taylor 1, yeah i did.

Alot of people tend to do things and say things because of hear-say. They HEAR Gatti-Ward is one of the greatest fight ever and they tend to expect to much when they actually get a chance to watch it. Thus it becomes overrated due to their own expectations.

i watched it when it happened and i loved it.

however it was still not as great as fights like morales-barrera 1, corrales-castillo 1, monishpour-sithachawal, curry-brooks, chacon-limon 4, muhammad-johnson 1, etc.....

however people get sensitive when u speak the truth about gatti-ward 1, instead of speaking on how great these other fights were or try to watch them if they haven't seen them.

like i get red karma and people saying 'great fight, **** you!" and stuff....hahahaha.....when did i say the fight wasn't great?

The gatti ward trilogy is hands down the best fights Ive ever seen, And you cant question what ive seen. I have a collection of over 5000 fights. Yes their are great fights but gatti ward 1 and 3 are imo the great back and forth action you'll ever see.

the 2nd fight was decent. gatti schooled ward and won 10-0.

the 3rd fight was good but if you call that the greatest back and forth action you'll ever see, then you obviously need to watch more boxing. because countless fights take a mammoth pooping on gatti-ward 3.
