    gatti-ward is overrated

it is a good brawl but people act like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

why do people say it's the best fight ever or in the top 5? do people just not watch enough fights in general?

here's a quick list off the top of my head of better fights than gatti-ward:

    brooks-curry
    chacon-limon 4
    corrales-castillo 1
    carbajal-gonzalez 1
    franklin-johnson 1
    muhammad-lopez 2
    chacon-edwards 2
    pryor-arguello 1
    ali-frazier 3
    ali-frazier 1
    gatti-robinson 1
    barrera-morales 1
    sithwhateverhisnameis-monishpour
    demarco-basillo 2
    holyfield-bowe 1
    holyfield-qawi

THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE, BUT TELL ME WHY PEOPLE OVERRATED THIS FIGHT.

DO PEOPLE HAVE SHORT TERM MEMORIES?

Because it was a good fight, and to a younger generation, this might be all that some of them know. Furthermore, to the older generation, it might remind them OF better fights. Either way, a fight like that evokes emotions from a fight fan.

It was a great fight. End of story. None of us have seen every fight in history so calling any fight the best is impossible. You just go off of what fights you enjoyed the most or you thought were the best you have seen. For me, Gatti v. Ward is right up there.

Gatti - Ward was a great great fight. But, there have been many great great fights. Another: Foreman v. Lyle.

i'm sorry but gatti vs ward trilogy is one of the greatest things ever in a boxing ring. No ego, no ****** belt, pure heart. Theres not many fighters who get that excited THREE TIMES for a non-title fight.

A lot of people don't have a ton of experience of watching fights, so that is why they rank it #1.

I myself rank it at #1.

                    Corrales-Castillo was a close second.
