I agree. Especially by putting the spotlight on the Phillipino vs Mexican rivalry. I dont care who makes what. Its not my concern. Im only interested in good matchups, and so far, GBP has been coming through.
what rivalry ?? there is no phillipino-Mexican rivalry.. look in my sig.
hes also been putting on great undercards, look at the Mosley-Cotto... wether or not it turns out to be great its not their fault..
Good point.
But the undercard on 'The World Awaits' was disappointing. Alot of people said that Mayweather ran too much or that Oscar didn't pressure enough. That's fine. But a HUGE , heavily promoted fight night like that one shouldn't hinge on just ONE fight.
We had a fight party. Everybody gotto my boy's house by 9pm. Some important undercards would have been nice.
I think they could have paid for hot undercards out of that $130 million.
Agreed?
the problem is that even though they have a lot of elite fighters, they know with only one or 2 of them they can make a succesful PPV and the undercards usually suck...and basically all of their important fights are on HBO, so theyre also dependant on HBO's budget........now that they're friends wth Top Rank, its starting to change....
The issue - as I stated it - is that the guys at the top made the big bucks in the big fights. Below that top (partnership) level, those guys' career have not flourished.
They can't all headline PPVs.
How many bad matchups and protected titles have there been as a result of GBP? How many big matches have failed to come to fruition b/c of promotional rivalries? And compare these numbers to DKP and Top Rank. I think GBP comes out looking good.
