Tyson was from the slums of Bklyn, and had the up most respect from the hip hop/black community's. The reason Tyson had a much much much bigger following/fanbase than Floyd is because of thier fighting styles. Tyson went in the ring with the intentions of taking your ****ing head off. Facts: you can go to college for free, you qualify for a million government programs, food stamps, government housing, lower tax brackets, and more opportunities than at any other point in history, and all paid for primarily by the middle class which just happens to be by in large white.

The reason Pavlik is so popular is because of the way he fights, and for the fact that he is willing to take on all comers. I don't care if your white,black,brown,green,etc. etc. I don't judge a person based on his skin color. I am hispnaic, so Pavlik being white has no bearing on liking him as a fighter. He is crowd pleasing and exciting to watch. That is the difference between him and Mayweather. Floyd fights just to survive 12 rounds, Pavlik goes in lookng to put you away.

But I hear a statistic that while blacks AS A PERCENTAGE receive more welfare, etc, whites AS A NUMBER receive more.

There are 5x-6x more White people in this country. So even if Blacks collect a govt check at, say, 3x the rate, there are still many more whites on the federal teat. (Have you ever been to Appalachia?)

Any info on this?

so what? as blacks we take credit for alot of indirect ****, from musical orgins to style of clothing etc. To downgrade whites in the sport of boxing isnt looking at things from an objective angle.

When peyton manning won the superbowl, would you say "tony dungy had nothing to do with peyton mannings success and should be discredited toward his win" no you wouldnt say that ****, its a team effort. You guys are a tad delusional. This is a boxing website full of hardcore fans. We are FAAAAAAR from a representative sample of the general public - or even the boxing public. As much as we all like the kid, nobody knows who Pavlik is. If you put his next fight against Duddy on PPV ...WOOD.

His popularity is TBD. Let's not pre-judge.

Secondly, you can't say that Pavlik is willing to take on all comers. We have ZERO evidence of that. Pavlik fought who he needed to fight to get a title shot. He earned that title shot and did the most with it. Fair play on him. But NOW is when we start to judge who he fights. Agreed? And John Duddy is about the 12th most deserving fighter he could have chosen.

Yes, whites far outnumber blacks in this country so the numbers should naturally lean towards whites, but imo those whites and blacks are taking advantage of all of us who bust our ass to just make it.

I own my own business. I gross roughly 140k a year. once i pay out everything for labor and expenses I'm left with about 90k.

Then comes taxes. I'm penalized for being in business for myself. with a good accountant i might walk with 65k.

you telling me i shouldn't be pissed for having to give up 25k a year to people who wont pull their own weight?
