I think this thread exposes a lot of people who wishes Manny would eventually lose in their lifetime. If Manny cares for his profit then so be it. He's the one ****ing in the ring anyway. Even if Manny fights Ivan Calderon, his countryman would be behind him always. Majority of his fans (the entire population) are not boxing aficionados but the thought and prayers of him winning are all that matters to them.

I think posters here should be educated enough to single out Pacquiao fans to nuthuggers, and not generalize these people as not being afraid of a particular boxer. Its all on the business side now for Pacquiao and i think he has already given the boxing world his fair share of excitement. If he wants to milk some more then so be it.

say what what you want, but pac's last fight was far more entertaining than dlh's acting job against b-hop, or that display of slapboxing the air against mayweather.

the difference between a good fighter and a great fighter. the good fighter will run the last 4 rounds of a fight to protect a victory. a great fighter lets it all hang.

Since Mayweather is a Welterweight, they said that jump would be far too big for Manny to handle.

Even though other elite fighters have jumped up even higher amounts. Shane went from 135 to 147 for Oscar. Floyd went to 154 for Oscar. Winky went to 170 for Hopkins. RJJ went to 193lbs.

        They also said.......

Let's examine this case study. Pinoys, get your pencils ready because you'll need to take notes if you want to stay on track, and stick with the facts.

        Height

        Pacquiao- Nearly 5'7"
        Diaz- 5'6"

        Weight in most recent fights

Pacquiao came in at 144lbs on the evening of Saturday, October 6th against Marco Antonio Barrera in a rematch.

Juan Diaz came in at 143lbs on the evening of Saturday, October 13th against Julio Diaz in a unification bout.

1 week apart from each other, Pac-144lbs Diaz-143lbs.

Now that Diaz has beaten Julio in impressive fashion, Pac fans seem to have gone back on their original word about where Manny belongs when it comes to matters of weight.

        News article from 10/11/07

Yet Pac fans have this to say about Pac's supposed move up to 135lbs....

These are just 2 of many examples of posts from pinoy users here about Pac moving up to 135lbs. Prior to the Diaz fight, they were all about him moving up to fight Diaz....David Diaz that is. A pushover, paper Champion who got spanked by Morales and got a bull**** hometown decision.

A move to 135lbs? To fight David Diaz for his belt? Go PAC!!!! What? Move to 135lbs to face Juan Diaz? All of a sudden Pac is incapable of making 135lbs........

This is not a hate thread. I'm simply pointing out the double standard/hypocrisy certain pinoy users are using in Pacquiao's defense now that Diaz has called out Pacquiao yet again.

I think it will look better for Juan to drop to 130lbs and spank Pacquiao in his "own" weight class anyway. Just pointing out the absurdity of certain members and how quickly they change what they say.
Great post & you did your due diligence. Pac will not fight Juan Diaz or Juan Manuel Marquez because those guys would definitely beat him. Hell, I bet Guzman has an even better shot of beating Pac if he thinks Guzman is an easy payday.

Let me start off by saying Juan Diaz is one of my top favorite fighters.

But there is no fear at all coming from me. MP is a better boxer, is faster, is more experienced, has more enduranced, is stronger and bigger. MP came in at 144 ripped. 1 pound over Juan with baby fat.

After watching both the Diaz/Diaz and MP/MAB fight several times. Juan's punches seem alot harder when he grunts while throwing. Without the sound, you can see his power doesnt look so powerful, as many already knows he lacks in that department. I think MP has a fair chance to come out of this fight victorious (60/40%). He has better head movement. He has better footwork. He fights akwardly. He attacks at angles and is a southpaw. Though I like Juan alot. Juan has slightly more to overcome then MP learning how to fight effectively moving backwards.

          Regardless, JMM MUST come first.

I can care less about the others to clear out (Valero Guzman Sotto). For me I think that the clock is ticking for MP. I know he plans on moving up eventually, and I believe now is the time to strike. I think he should move to lightweight as soon as possible. MP is close to plateau while Juan is getting stronger and better. He should go for David Diaz for his tune up immediately after JMM. Then go for Juan late next year if he could or very early 2009. The longer he waits the harder it gets, favoring Juan, which I wouldnt mind MP passing the torch onto as the new exciting and explosive fighter. Wins over JMM and a belt from David Diaz would be more than enough for my fill.

Very true. If he milks his name for what its worth granted he will no longer be considered P4P. Boxing fans are fickle remember...What have you done for me lately, not years ago.
