From what i have seen from Floyd, he tends to win his fights by capitilizing off of his opponents mistakes. Its not like he goes in with intentions of bringing it to his opponents. I personally dont like the guy, because he tends to avoid confrontation in the ring. To me, boxing is a physical/confrontational sport, and if your gonna have guys like Floyd who go in the ring to play it safe, then its kind've hard for me to respect him as a fighter.

I can see this point, i definitely can, but floyd is a boxer, some guys are brawlers, some guys win by volume of punches, some guys are punchers. All these have their place in boxing. Without the different styles you would never get to see anyone transcend to greatness when they are forced to fight outside their style, ala Corrales going toe to toe with Castillo.

Boxing's a sport. And wether or not you like it or not, there are offensive minded fighters, and defensive minded fighters. You see this in every SPORT. Keyword: Sport.

Football you got teams like the Ravens and Steelers who specialize in running the ball and playing solid defense. On the other side you have the Colts and Cowboys who play great offense.

        The greatest balance wins championships.

And for this reason - I hope Floyd Mayweather gets his ass kicked!!

            I see your point.

There are different styles to boxing.

But Fake Floyd's resume isn't THAT stellar. His resume lacks a lot of the elites that should have been in his resume.

Also there is still no substitute for a KO.

Add the fact that he insults the sport by calling himself the G.O.A.T.

His resume isn't that stellar, you are right. most guys he beat that are considered great fighters were past their prime, except for maybe castillo, but from what i've heard that decision was questionable, but im not going to try and talk about a fight i didnt see myself. as far as the goat, that just makes me laugh. he doesnt even make top 10 on my list. maybe if he beats all the major players at welterweight. he doesnt even need to go undefeated either. if he loses then comes back and wins a rematch, that's fine. just beat guys in their prime and dont force them to come up in weight (hatton). fact of the matter is, though, floyd is undefeated and does a great job marketing himself. dont know if he is #1 p4p, but he is darn close. i think that #1 spot is because of the skills he has, whether he has used them or not.

I was agreeing with your post until that wildly inaccurate comment.

Floyd has been the one fighting bigger men his whole career, and Ricky will be the bigger man in their fight.

Don't blame Floyd just because Ricky has chosen to hide at a lower weight class.

I said that because ricky looked horrible at 147 against collazo, a guy that isnt even that great. hiding or not, hatton fights better at 140, ala Gatti.

So what you are saying is that the P4P #1 fighter should accomodate a lower ranked fighter? Since when has that been the thing to do? The challenger has to come to the champion. With you saying PBF shouldn't make Hatton come to 147. Do you feel that De la Hoya was wrong in making PBF come up to 154, using a smaller ring and worst of all using gloves in the hopes of making PBF hurt his hands?
