  • To the thread starter, you are all a joke.. lol

You don't even know how to appreciate the sport of boxing or Manny Pacquiao.
Pacquiao gave us this opportunity to see great possible fights..
Dude he's a natural lightweight at this time, that's why he's fighting Cotto at 145 to compromise his weight gained.

And for Pacquiao scared of Mayweather?? I believe every CHAMPION isn't scared to fight anybody... I would say, their promoters are scared. Boxing nowadays is all about money... **** IT!!

Or should I say Mayweather is scared of Machida? Now what?! lol

Well obviously some of us felt he could compete ; just look at the number of people who replied in both this thread, and my other thread on the issue "Pacquiao should move to Welterweight".

Some of us were smart enough to realize that the guy could compete at 135, 140, and even 147.

Contrary to the popular belief ; Pacquiao really isn't that small.

He'll never fight below 140 ever again.

And he's fighting Cotto at what? 145lbs?

What's the extra 2lbs going to hurt against a small guy like Floyd who comes in on fight night at 150 on the dot?

Hell, Floyd would probably fight him at 145lbs as well ; he's fighting Marquez there, I'm sure he'd do the same for Manny.

The only real obstacle is the purse split, which Floyd will likely agree to 50/50 when Manny beats Cotto's ass like expected.

But I wouldn't be surprised to see Manny retire after Cotto.

Isn't he running for some public office in 2010?

His popularity is at an all time high right now, and it'll be even bigger when he conquers Cotto.

He's a shoe in to be elected.

Unless something bad happens....like a loss to Mayweather.

        1.) I'm actually not a joke, I'm quite serious.

2.) Yes, I do appreciate the sport, and I respect Manny Pacquiao.

3.) Yes, he did give us some great fights.

4.) No, he's not a natural Lightweight at this moment. Even Freddie Roach said Manny will never fight at 135lbs ever again. He's a 140lbs fighter now, capable of making 147. Just like Ricky Hatton.

5.) He's fighting Cotto @ 145, 2lbs shy of the Welterweight limit, but technically ; it's still Welterweight. 147 is only the limit for the class. 145 is technically a Welterweight bout.

6.) I already said me calling him scared was a simple bait tactic back when I first created this thread in 2007. But my point still stands ; I called for this fight to happen nearly 2 years ago and everybody said I was a ****** for doing so. Now look at everybody else calling for it as well.

7.) Who the hell is "Machida"?

give it a rest. pacquiao's climb at the weights is far more impressive than floyd's.

            • Floyd don't get enough credit for moving up to Welter and even fighting at 154 instead he gets hated on for not fighting these fighters at that weight when he was chasing the money fights....if he attempted to fight them at a catchweight lord knows the flak he'd get, whereas Manny, who I do respect also, gets high praise for his antics when he's scared to just move up to the weight division of the fighter he wants to fight....Floyd never asked any fighter he was chasing to come down in weight he went up to face them and is even coming down a bit to face JMM who wanted to face him.

Sure Floyd hasn't fought the best at welter yet but no one here would have fought Cotto and Mosley when you had Hatton and DLH on the table and if you say you would you'd be lying. Remember Floyd has been in this game for a lot of time and had injuries so he wanted a rest from the spot we knew he weren't really retiring because he said before Hatton that he wouldn't fight calender year 2008 or 2009, but hes come back early and he clearly intends to fight JMM, Pac, Cotto and Mosley. Floyd clearly aint a *****.

Yes, he is a natural lightweight. The only thing Roach said that because there are no legitimate fighters at 135, I mean moneywise... I dont see a Pac-Mayweather fight even if they both win on their upcoming fights and even if Pac loses in the election for his congressional seat. He will lose with no doubt.

The only chance of seeing Pac-Mayweather fight is to settle Top Rank and Mayweather Promotion's LOLLIPOP...

                • The difference is PACQUIAO won the WBC flyweight Championship at 112.. While Mayweather is still an amateur.

He's completely content to avoid the Welterweight division (a division he could easily make) altogether.

I can't say I blame him either, I'd rather stay below Welterweight and fight a bunch of retiring legends and overhyped prospects until I retire too. It beats having to step in the ring with serious threats and risk the dreams of an entire Nation.

Here's Pacquiao's reaction if he ever finds out he must face Mayweather......

And your man Money is the one making a lightweight meet him at welterweight when he is the one that could be accused of ducking the top welters in pursuit of an easy fight as well.

We will see what happens after the JMM and Cotto fights if the two can both "man-up" enough to make fight of the decade.
