Truth is, no fighter has ever fought the top ranked fighter in his division every fight. Ever. Seriously.

Everyone fights warm up bouts... (Sharmba Mitchell, Hector Velazquez)

I just think it is odd that everyone feels that Floyd should be held to a higher standard than everyone else in the sport.
Why is it so odd? Floyd holds himself out as being not merely the greatest of his generation, but the greatest of all time. Floyd did this to himself.

But, if you're going to place yourself on this tier, you have to fight the best to prove you're the best. He hasn't done this. This is a big reason why his critics are so vocal.

      Cheerio on that.

However, a lot of people say that he shouldn't be P4P #1, Pac should, because Floyd hand picks opponents and **** like that. That is what I am speaking out against.

I totally agree with you though that when it comes to being the GOAT resume wise, his just doesn't cut it.

Ability maybe, but that's not how most people evaluate the GOAT.

The guys that Pac has beaten for the past few years are largely WELL past their primes. Small guys with 60 and 70 fights. Pac may have beat Barrera in his prime. Who knows. I do know that Morales beat Pac, and that Erik was doing well in the first half of the rematch...until he fumed out.

Larios is a 122 guy. He really had no biz @ 130. Hell. He was coming off a loss at 122 to Iz.

Can you imagine if PBF fought a lightweight coming off a loss?
That Larios win is basically equivalent to Clottey beating Corrales @ WW.

Yeah, well...Pacquiao is the 1p4p for me because he went through a string of legitimate HOF Mexican fighters with his explosive offense. He is a great athlete with rattlesnake like speed. He has a better resume IMO than Floyd.

Well, opinions vary. The consensus is that FMJ is #1 P4P.

If PBF can squeak by Hatton, there will be alot of people impressed by a Judah-Delahoya-Hatton string.

Hatton is, after all, in the top ten.

Well, if that is so idiotic, then tell me on the basis of what that many people on here say "Floyd is a coward".

Phantasm, I can assure you that you are not operating on some otherworldly intelligence. I'm willing to hazard a bet that you don't have much better academic credentials. Sorry.
look at the video and you will see very little that resembles the blatant lack of offense that mayweather graced us with on may 5th. Pep comes forwards and throws combinations at opportune times trying to hurt sadler. Floyd did nothing of the sort, even when some of the most opportune times imaginable occurred in the later rounds.

Please remember that Saddler beat Pep 3 out of 4.

Did Pep fight in an exciting manner against Saddler? Yes.

Did Pep win most of those fights? No.

Should we give Pep props for repeatedly utilizing a losing strategy? No.

                Agree?

What was his record against Saddler again? 1-3?

Hmm... let's reward a guy for repeatedly trying a strategy that made him lose, time and time again.

What the **** is wrong with everyone? You all act like using strategy and ring intelligence is a ****ing sin.

And Pep went down to not much of a shot ,, and they were equal weight , what would happen if Sadler was 14 Lbs heavier ,,,, once again people forget that Floyd gave Oscar 14lbs ,, that is dam amazing ,,,, who did you pick in Floyd ODH fight ?

Willie Pep a coward. Come on I can even try to be sarcastic but not call him a coward. Just because he has great head movement and footwork? He was exciting. I guess Ryoto Machida, Jermain Taylor, Muhammed Ali (due to his fight with Norton), and a lot more are cowards.

Bernardo, I never called Floyd a coward. On the contrary, I think he's one of the best BOXERS today. But I do fault a guy for talking **** and then not back it up. If he would admit that he prefers a defensive style, as Pep did, then I think more people would respect him. Winky admits it and you dont see anybody calling him a coward. Boring, maybe. But not a coward.
And if you recall (in your Gatti/racist thread), I stated that I dont think ANY fighter who steps into the ring is a coward. It's easy for someone who has never even been in a street fight, let alone a boxing match, to say that; yet they can sit comfortably in their air conditioned living room while watching 2 guys smash their faces in and call them a coward.
Also, it's easy to post a video of Pep and Saddler not mixing it up, when they fought 4 times and Pep admits to not mixing it up in this one. Lets see the other fights and then make a comment.
Nor did I ever state that I operate on an otherworldy intelligence. However, I did graduate from college some time ago and unlike you am not a guy pushing 40 spending hours on Boxingscene and still attending SUNY college. Good for you that you are still in school; however, the facts remain that most people who have read your posts think you are either an idiot or like me, think that you say things just to create controversy. And judging from the amount of time you spend here and the fact that you feel that posting pictures of models in your avatar makes you cool, I feel that you are immature or just one of those guys who honestly doesnt know what he's talking about.
By the way...I'd pretty much guarantee that you'd lose that bet.
