The Difference between MORALES & BARRERA

Tonights fight was a perfect example of the difference between the hearts of Morales & Barrera.

No way Morales would have cruised through the fight. I think if MAB had have exchanged more with Pac it would have been a better thing for him.

Barrera's effort reminded me of a typical disappointing DLH performance.
I'm not a MAB hater, I just think he sold him self very short.

unfortunately, i'd agree. and he was holding his own in the exchanges as well, getting the better of pacquiao every once in a while. at least a good 30-45 second spurts of exchanges for every single round would have made him look much better.

Yeah I don't know why he just didn't do more of it & Pac's punches early went hurting him so I don't know what he was thinking.

Barrera looked like he was in there for a paycheck. I mean he was fighting good at times.. Sort of like in spurts and what not. He did what he had to do. You can't blame him for boxing. Also saying you're gonna retire before a fight is self explanatory. He gave us a good career and a great trilogy with Morales.

Both Morales and Barerra are great fighters. Morales is the warrior out of the two. Barrera just went from warrior to boxer. It happens.

No, this fight showed the true difference between Morales and Barrera.

Barrera is a true master of the sweet science. He can outbox you, he can outslug you, he can out dance you, he can out brawl you.

He doesn't go into the ring thinking fight, he goes in thinking THINK!

And he demonatrated this tonight. He out thought Pac-man. He really gave Pac a clinic on controling your opponent. He put on a clinic on selling feints, He put on a clinic on taking away pacmans left by circling left. Unfortunately Barrera no long as the goods he needs to take advantage of whats hes created.

Some of these guys are so habitually trained to avoid the danger when they sense it they can't make themselves pull the trigger. ERROR ERROR.

Barrera looked like he was internally torn at different points..

He ventured into the fire a here and there but I guess he just couldn't bring himself to exchange like an alley cat.

He may regret it. It would have been better if he had.

                He cruised.

I agree with you on Morales. I think the same goes for Pacquiao.

Those are guys who never cared if they get hurt.

Goodbye to Barrera. It didn't have to be this way..

Good thing I never had feelings. He never did it for me.

the difference between the 2 fighters when it comes to heart is barrera has NEVER quit and done a "no mas" against any of his opponents unlike morales in his 3rd fight against pacquiao. when you say morales would not have cruised through the fight, do you think that makes morales smart or something?? why do you think morales cant fight no more and has to retire at the age of 31, its becasue he was too stubborn for his own good and instead of boxin and cruising to victory in some of his fights with his superb boxing skills that he has, he would just brawl when he didnt need too and get hit with hard shots!!! yeah it might make morales alook more entertainin of the 2 fighters, but it was also his downfall, why do you think barrera has lasted longer than morales at the highest level in boxing, its because barrera is a lot smarter than morales and knew he doesnt need to exhange with fighters just for the sake of it.

barrera had plenty of heart going into his 2nd fight with pacquiao, after the severe beating he received against him in 2003, it took heart for barrera to step inside the ring with him again, mentally and physically barrera must have been scarred by that loss, but it took guts and heart or him to climb in the ring and try to reverse that beating he took. barrera put on a good display against pacquiao, he has nothin to be ashamed of, for barrera, who is 33 years old and has been in some brutal fights and was fighting his 70th fight, he done very good considering how much mileage he has on his body. the majority of people on this site and various other sites as well as boxing writers never gave barrera a chance, the majority of people were saying pacman was gonna crush him inside 6 rounds, its gonna be a massacre, they hope barrera wont get hurt, etc... and look what happened, barrera lasted the distance and had pacquiao in trouble in some parts of the fight and actually was boxing him very well in the first half of the fight, and pacquiao never looked like KO'ing barrera or never was this fight as one-sided as there first fight, and that was down to barrera fighting a good fight.
