Cotto is my favorite fighter, been all over to see him fight but it's plain ignorance to think he would of fared much better than he did this year against Floyd in 2007. The Miguel Cotto Floyd got this year was a smart, and determined fighter. A fighter that was very disciplined and wiser from years of his battles.

As for Mosley, it's funny that everyone seems to be forgetting about how people were talking up this fight. People still wanted this fight in 2010 and demanded it, so Floyd finally stepped up and took it. A lot of people considered Shane still close to the top of his game and many of them were taking Shane. The way Floyd dismantled Shane leaves no doubt in my mind that Floyd would of ate Shane alive in 2007 too.

I think it's sour g****s, tbh. To look back and say these fighters weren't the same. Part of the reason they aren't the same was because Floyd ruined them to an extent. Shane isn't as bad as he looked against Canelo or Pac because his skills diminished so greatly, Floyd had part of that. Miguel was determined and his skills weren't that far gone when he fought Floyd either.

No, they might of not been at their peeks but they certainly wouldn't of done that much better than they did when they were given the chance. You also have to keep in mind that Mayweather of 2007 is also not the same fighter as he was in these fights. It works both ways.

The only qualm I have with this is that Mayweather wanted Mosley back in '99 before he lost to Forrest and he also wanted to fight Mosley in '06 when he gave the "I need to get my teeth fixed, I need me some dentures" excuse after KO'ing Vargas. He gave Mosley two opportunities at times where Mosley looked great.
