I don't hate Calzaghe. What reason do I have to hate him?

But you're making it seem like he should be the most respected fighter in the game.

I hate to keep using Hopkins as an example, but there's no comparison between the body of work of Hopkins and Calzaghe. Joe needs to come to America and fight someone with a name. That's how he'll get respect.

And for the record, I'm very much looking forward to the fight with Calzaghe/Kessler. Takes real balls on both of them to do this fight.

Calzaghe has fought lots of fighters who range from solid to quite good. Reid, Veit, Brewer, Mitchell, Eubank, and Woodhall aren't murderer's row, but it's a solid group of pros. It's better than a lot (clearly not all) of the guys Larry Holmes or Hopkins faced in similarly long reigns. Now he faces the best fighter to come along in his time at 168 and if he wins likely goes to Hopkins. Nothing wrong with that. People over emphasize betaing one great name.

He's fought decent fighters. This fight with Kessler will be the first time his undefeated record's in jeopardy. I mean, after 43 fights, what does that tell you? To me, it says Joe is a good fighter, but it also says his quality of opposition hasn't been the best.

Now, that has a lot to do with the 168 lbs division been subpar in terms of depth. Here's my point. You want Joe to get the respect of Americans? He beats Kessler and fights Hopkins next in America. It's as simple as that. No Anthony Mundines or anyone like that. He gets the respect of America when he fights Hopkins.

See, this is what I mean...

His undefeated record was'nt in jeopardy against Lacy, Eubank, Veit or Reid?

Or even guys like Mitchell, Bika, Brewer and Sheika? His undefeated record is in Jeopardy every time he steps in the ring.

And for the record, Kessler has a much better chance at beating Calzaghe than Hopkins does.

Hopkins is 43 years old, he has no legs anymore and he hardly throws any punches. Calzaghe would swarm him and Hopkins knows it. All he wants is the paycheck, that's why he said "Let's do Yankee stadium". When have you ever heard someone get called out like that?
