Am much more interested in seeing this one than a re-match of Taylor-Pavlik.

Pavlik reminds me in some ways of a rawer version of Vassiliy Jirov
    - an incredibly tough, straight ahead punching machine.
Jirov threw from more angles, & showed better head & body movement, but Pavlik has incredible raw power.

Abraham a very solidly skilled fighter, excellent defence, throws very hard, accurate punches. Very good counter-puncher. Great chin.
Likes to lay on the ropes, picking off punches, & steadily break down his opponents with sharp, hard punches. Can fight very effectively from the centre of the ring.

    Great style match-up.
Pavlik coming straight at Abraham throwing everything, Abraham picking him off with hard shots.
Pavlik is the much busier of the two, but Abraham is the much more accurate, as well as being much harder to hit cleanly.

Be very interested to see who starts breaking down over the stretch.
    very well stated...

nice to have someone that knows boxing well and can actually analize fighters and bring REALITY to a possible matchup.

I take nothing away from Pavlik and commend him on an incredible victory and winning the world titles, but for those that arn't giving credit to Abraham who is an equally talented world title holder, you folks are just hating..and all for the wrong reasons.

If you think Abraham has no chance against Pavlik, you are a complete fool.

lol, this guy appears, only when we talk about armenians

It's funny how people can look at the same thing, and see something completely different.

In my eyes, as stated by others, Abraham should have been stopped in round 5. And after that, I certainly didn't see Abraham outboxing anybody. I saw him holding on, throwing a max of 10 punches per round, and literally RUNNING away; Running, as in turning his back and running. That is something the ref should stop you for, as it is a sign of not wanting to fight, and giving up. Anywhere but in Germany, Abraham would have been stopped, if not in the 5th, then in any round after that, for turning his back.

I don't see any type of Winky class defense either. Gevor was easily outlanding him for most of their fight. Abraham was clearly a full weight division bigger. If not for that, and his power, I think he could have very well lost that fight. To me, Abraham is easy to hit, doesn't have the energy to do much during rounds, fights in little spurts that win rounds when you're at home against a picked opponent.

He does have power, and that's probaly the only thing that gives him a shot at beating Pavlik. Catching him early, like Taylor did. If the fight goes a few rounds, Pavlik's gonna drive him into the ground with his work rate.

Anyway, not saying I'm right and you're wrong. I just think it's funny there can be two opinions that far apart on the same issue.

Edit: And I'm not a Pavlik fan boy, or an Abraham hater.

Fair play Punch Drunk. AA certainly did run for some of those later rounds. Way ahead on points, due to early rounds and then five deductions, and with a broken jaw, he did indeed fight evasively, which I normally despise. But he had a broken jaw, and he stepped in at strategic moments to guarantee the decision, and in those moments he was still outboxing EM I thought.

I think under the circumstances the running was excusable, if it ever is.

As for Pavlik-Abraham, let's just hope they make the fight.

and that is bad or funny because???

yes I do appear when we talk about Armenians, and always will. Their careers are the only ones that really matter to me and actually make a difference in my life since I'm close to most of them.

I can't believe how many people are so sensative about this and always have to point it out to me... don't any of you have national pride and care for your own people (especially those you know personally) a bit more than the rest?

I agree, and Kelly has not even had his first title defense yet...give him and Taylor both a break

And it wasnt like he beat the guy up for 11 rounds and then pounded him like Andre Berto did last night, it was a one-punch KO where Abraham seemed to be in a little trouble himself.

Ive never been impressed with him and does EVEYRTHING that favors Pavlik.\

He is ALWAYS covering up completely and laying against the ropes WILLINGLY. Pavlik eats that **** up, it would be an easy night for him.

And im not saying Pavlik is the second coming of Hagler either, i just think Pavlik is a much more technically sound fighter, does virtually everything better, and would get Abraham outta there in maybe 6 or 7 rounds, depending on how tough ABRAHAM is

                    agreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Abraham has two things big KO power and good defence when being attacked.

When Abraham is throwing he's vulnerable.
