Is Floyd Past His Prime?

That probably won't happen with Hatton... we can be sure Floyd is going to win the fight if that does happen though. Saying "Come on, let's fight" to your opponent tells me that you have tried absolutely everything to get your offense going in the fight, and you can't, so your last ditch effort is to try to mock your opponent into giving you a chance back into the fight.I see what you mean...but regarding Baldomir...I don't want to get under your skin here, but I saw Baldomir standing in the middle of the ring saying, "C'mon, let's fight." Floyd wouldn't. That's what I was referring to as not being encouraging. Don't counter me with details here because you know what I'm talking about. Do you think that will happen with Hatton?
The Baldomir fight was encouraging to me too... it showed me that Floyd doesn't lose his head when he is taunted. It also shows me that he can box and move like a beast.Comment

Have to disagree with the body shot statement. Ricky's got plenty of power. More than Floyd. Let's leave it at that. And, he's got a great chin. And, he's got very fast hands. But will it be at 147? Question of the day.
I have never heard described as a one-punch KO artist though... and I think that's what Dios was referring to. He was saying that Ricky has a puncher's chance, and that puncher's chance is relatively small, because Ricky has never been the guy who ends fights with one, skull-shattering blow.
A body shot, on the other hand, doesn't need a plethora of power to knock someone out. So even if Hatton is getting outclassed, that is his golden ticket in the fight.Comment

It wouldn't annoy me at all. Do you remember Hagler telling Leonard "fight me, you *****"? And SRL stayed on his bike and kept flurrying.I see what you mean...but regarding Baldomir...I don't want to get under your skin here, but I saw Baldomir standing in the middle of the ring saying, "C'mon, let's fight." Floyd wouldn't. That's what I was referring to as not being encouraging. Don't counter me with details here because you know what I'm talking about. Do you think that will happen with Hatton?
Smart fighters fight winning fights. They fight THEIR fight. Not get drawn in by the other guy or the crowd.Comment

It just doesn't happen to top guys. That CAN NOT be your gameplan.
It happens to guys like Bruseles and Dorin... or older guys like Hill or Castillo.Comment

I don't want to get caught up in the Baldomir thing. My point was that simply pointing to Collazo and Urango is a little bit of a cop out. Hatton won those fights. What is it you're trying to prove? That Hatton can have off nights? I simply point to all his fights to support my contention that he's got more than just a puncher's chance in this fight. I could point to Floyd's bad nights, ie..Oscar, Castillo I. What would I prove? Floyd can have bad nights, too. So what? The issue is Hatton v. Mayweather now.Comment
