ive been saying all along that steroids are not the most beneficial to to fighters that blood EPO doping like cyclists would be most advantageous

i read an article elsewhere where they said they had the documents with mosely red blood cell count in their documents and it went from 42 all the way to 53 which is absolutely off the charts. he was given his last injection a week before the fight

Just because Shane is all smiley and polite, people give him a pass. But if this was another fighter (ex: PBF, Malignaggi, etc), he would have been eviscerated by the boxing public.

That is why I say that boxing has become figure skating.

People need to ask themselves two questions:
      1) What are Mosley's greatest physical attributes as a fighter?
      2) What physical attributes are most enhanced by taking steroids?

While I agree that Shane gets some benefit for being a great person, its not necessarily true that he'd get all that much more heat if he wasn't. Its not like James Toney's fan interest really changed that much before or after his two positive tests. I think steroid stories really only affect the biggest name athletes or the biggest storied athletes. Oscar juicing would be a much bigger story than Miguel Cotto juicing. Even if Cotto is currently a better fighter

Does anyone know if Shannon Briggs was ever part of the BALCO probe? He's never been tested positive for steroid use but I'm started to have my doubts about him being clean.

I'll answer question 1 for you... His nose you see how wide his nose is?? He sucks up all the oxygen in the air making it difficult for his opponent to breath. I've actually heard that people in the front row have had to take oxygen to recover from the dramatic drop of oxygen in the air (J/K). Hopefully Cotto can flatten it in the first round and coast to an easy KO in the 6th. I hate when a fighter that I respect takes performance enhancing drugs. I feel betrayed and angered that he felt he wasn't man enough to stand on his god given physical aptitude and either win or lose. How can you call yourself a champion among men when you cheat and lie to gain the things that everyday people only dream of. Might aswell enter the ring with a gun and shoot your opponent. How can you hold your head up high and act like you truely deserve to be on the pedistal we've placed you on? I don't wish any harm on him in the Cotto fight, but if Shane comes in all natural then I want this to be a tough and grueling fight so that we will all know if Shane was ever for real or just another phony drug using wannabe.

But nobody bought into (or would buy into) Toney's denials. As you can see from that other thread, guys were adamant that Shane was innocent, despite substantial evidence to the contrary.

I did always find it strange how Mosley was very strong for that fight, also He rocked delahoya with a couple single shots. But in the first fight he couldent move delahoya with combinations. Now I hope Cotto Makes him pay for not being honest.

I did not see Briggs on the BALCO list. I think he just took conventional steroids.

Here is what the BALCO clients were taking:

                  human growth hormone,
                  Depo-Testosterone
undetectable steroids known as "the cream" and "the clear" insulin
Clomid, a drug for female infertility sometimes used to enhance the effect of testosterone
modafinil, a stimulant normally used to treat narcolepsy
                  EPO
and other drugs depending on your sport.

BTW, Shannon Sharpe was a BALCO client before he retired. Remember how diesel and cut he was?

                    It's A Dang Shame....

I guess everyone should start juicing: The fighters, The cornermen, The refs, The judges.

Let's not forget: The announcer and The fans should juice up too before fights.

                    Heck, Make it a free-for-all.

Then maybe people would calm the heck down.

I doubt the steroids helped him and here's why: Oscar pretty much always fades down the stretch while Mosley is a good 2nd half fighter. Mosley in 2000, when Balco wasn't in play here, beat Oscar badly in the last 4 rounds. I think additionally that any added muscle Shane had actually hurt him more than it helped him. That said, it was wrong if he did it but I am waiting until his interview with Dan Rafael is up later tonight before I say much more on it. Let's see what Shane says before we convict him of anything
