The lead investigator in the BALCO steroid scandal has accused three-division world champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley of taking performance-enhancing drugs prior to his 2003 fight with Oscar De La Hoya. Associated Press is reporting today that during a closed international anti-doping conference last November in Colorado Springs, investigator Jeff Novitzky alleged that Mosley used THG, Testosterone and Erythropoietin. Mosley, who is scheduled to face Miguel Cotto on November 10, has denied under oath that he has ever taken banned substances, and has never been tested positive by any boxing commission for a banned substance.

ha if you dont believe this then you are naive as can be. Just think about it, he was coming up in weight, dont you think he would use any advantage out there. Then after his peaking, he goes into a little slump and hasnt looked invincible, probably since he stopped.The timeline conicides real well. Really, this is old news and i thought was more widely known.

all that blood doping and chemical and hormonal changes sounds risky and dangerous. can't say anything about mosley until he confesses or there's a positive test. too late now to know now.

How many guys confess? And how is he gonna test positive when BALCO is out of business?

It is obvious by now that steroid use is more common in professional sports than we would like to admit. Some athletes get caught and others never get caught.

So many guys who don't know much about PED's get caught up in the "he didn't get big" approach. Do you remember when Larry Merchant put the pics side-by-side to show that the changes in Mosley's physique were minimal? That means nothing.

What people forget is that boxing is a bit of an endurance sport as much as anything. It is not shot-putting or a 100 meter sprint.

So the drugs that these guys take are often the same drugs that a miler would take. Just like Regina Jacobs needs to go all out for four minutes when she is running a mile, Shane needs to go 3 minutes all-out, take a minute rest, then go all-out for three minutes again.

I wrestled guys that did all types of ****. They didn't want to get "big" because then they couldn't make weight. But you can take stuff that gives you muscular endurance.

Some guys DO take products that make them "big". Vinny Pazienza was one of them. Evander Holyfield is another.

Reminder: Everybody who was a client of BALCO was dirty. EVERYBODY.
