    roy jones.

I'm sorry I know alot of people here are big fans of his but he is their biggest hype job ever. Very talented boxer yes, but he was so protected by HBO throughout his pro career. He had more fights on HBO than anybody else in history and so many of them garbage fights.

Barrera doesn't need hype. He's as good a featheweight fighter as I've ever known.

And he's definitely not sheltered and hyped by HBO the way some other guys are.

Mckay i dont agree with roy jones being protected james toney could of destroyed him and roy jones even went up to heavy wieght but when he came down he lost alot of speed ended of losing fights after that.
People got excited yes but over hyped na i dont think so he was a great boxer p4p champ who deserved the hype.

lol, hes not bad, he is a legend, but he's hyped more than he really is, they talk about his new masterful boxing when most of what he throws is pitter-patter..., except for hamed who didnt even put pressure on him......when he fought great fighters boxing, he lost the first 5 rounds of the second fight with morales and the fight with marquez...

not to mention he has avoided pacquiao for 4 years and soto for 1 and a half....but youll never hear hbo say this...
also outside of morales he's fought no one at 130....

I dont think he's hyped because IMO he's the best featherweight there's been in my memory.

James Toney could't have destroyed him? Toney has a terrible style in regards to Jones, and that is a very overrated fight. Yeah Jones won every round but he hardly landed a meaninfull punch in the entire fight, I dont care about that dumb posing ****, maybe it was supposed to krunk or something when Jones landed on him when he posing. ****** **** on both their parts.

Hatton fought his way to the top. Pavlik fought his way to the top. Miranda had 1 fight on HBO as compared to Jones' record I dont what the number is.

You have to admit though, that knockdown that RJJ put on Toney was a historical event. I doubt any fighter has or will do that to another world class boxer.
