Just had to put this here for reaction sake.
Time for a new P4P king?
By Karl Freitag
Promoter Bob Arum says if Manny Pacquiao gets by Marco Antonio Barrera on October 6, the Pacman should dislodge Floyd Mayweather as the mythical #1 pound-for-pound fighter. "I think Pacquiao should be considered that (#1 P4P)," Arum told *********.com on a conference call on Monday. "I don't think Floyd Mayweather can beat either Miguel Cotto or Shane Mosley and I don't see why anybody would pick Floyd to be a pound-for-pound best fighter in the world."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Even rival promoter Oscar De La Hoya, who promotes Barrera and is also promoting Mayweather's next fight against Ricky Hatton, agrees Pacquiao would have a claim to P4P supremacy. "[Pacquiao's] definitely the most exciting fighter in the world and there's no arguments that people will call him the best pound for pound fighter in the world," Oscar told *********. "Obviously you have a lot of top fighters who can be the pound for pound fighter, for instance you have Pacquiao, you have Floyd Mayweather, you have guys like Bernard Hopkins, you have fighters like Miguel Cotto....at this point there are so many big fights going on and happening, I believe it's getting more difficult to see who is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world."
