    Pacquiao new p4p?

Just had to put this here for reaction sake.

Time for a new P4P king?
    By Karl Freitag
Promoter Bob Arum says if Manny Pacquiao gets by Marco Antonio Barrera on October 6, the Pacman should dislodge Floyd Mayweather as the mythical #1 pound-for-pound fighter. "I think Pacquiao should be considered that (#1 P4P)," Arum told *********.com on a conference call on Monday. "I don't think Floyd Mayweather can beat either Miguel Cotto or Shane Mosley and I don't see why anybody would pick Floyd to be a pound-for-pound best fighter in the world."

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Even rival promoter Oscar De La Hoya, who promotes Barrera and is also promoting Mayweather's next fight against Ricky Hatton, agrees Pacquiao would have a claim to P4P supremacy. "[Pacquiao's] definitely the most exciting fighter in the world and there's no arguments that people will call him the best pound for pound fighter in the world," Oscar told *********. "Obviously you have a lot of top fighters who can be the pound for pound fighter, for instance you have Pacquiao, you have Floyd Mayweather, you have guys like Bernard Hopkins, you have fighters like Miguel Cotto....at this point there are so many big fights going on and happening, I believe it's getting more difficult to see who is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world."

Pacquiao should be pound for pound by beating a guy he already knocked out? Plus Barrera is coming off a loss. Arum is smoking Anorak's stash.

Pretty much what I thought when I saw this.

Why does he get a new trophy for winning the same round robin tournament he has already won (vs. Barrera/Morales)?

the reason for him to be pound for pound is because he doesnt give a boring fight not unlike the others. it's either him or pavlik. p4p should be base on the excitement and brutal punches a boxer can show in the ring not the running around trying to stay pretty and talk alot of bull****. plus even if it is a round robin it is still a fight i would rather watch than the boring **** gaylahoya and gayweather showed on may 5.

oh my god " come may 5th i will defeat gaylahoya brutally, da da da dada, i wil hurt gayweather big time da da da da da" sissy bitches was that even a ****ing fight. i bet a 100 dollars hatton vs mayweather will be a boring **** and an eyesore too.

            My predictions

PAC will probably be P4P #1 after Oct. 6. and deserves it. I think the Mayweather Hatton fight in Dec will determine if Floyd gains it back.

Well it's good to have confirmation that you don't understand anything about boxing.

Your logic puts Ricardo Mayorga at #1, because he throws harder than anyone... and he still loses. But apparantly winning is secondary to being exciting in your criteria for P4P #1. ****ing brilliant.

In that case Pacman will remain to be number one since Mayweather will be shut down by Hatton this coming December.

Notice who number 2 is and number 7 in pound for pound rankings. Also you have to bare in mind that Marco is still ring mag rated #3 CURRENTLY (even after his loss) in the division. Shane Mosely is currently rated #3 in in the Welterweight division. So this fight is somewhat similiar to Floyd against Mosely or Floyd against #2 in division Cotto. Hatton is in the lower division. Jr. Welterweight. And should be counted as such. And should also be looked at as cowardness to fight people within his own division.

                    arum is funny.

when he had mayweather he said floyd was the best boxer since ali.

now that floyd left arum, floyd ain't even as good as pacquiao.
