Yeah... Floyd turns 31 in Feb. And it's safe to say that he ain't taking P-Dub in '08.

So, AT BEST, he takes Pun in '09 (when Floyd is 32/33). And, by then, Williams might be a friggin' middleweight...who knows?

But this isn't new news to any of us. All the big money boxers did the same thing. SRL played deaf to Aaron Pryor, and DLH has never spoken the names of Vernon Forrest or Winky Wright.

These guys know who the dangerous opponents are that will derail the money train.

      Yes. You are right.

But Castillo made concessions in the second fight. They were BOTH huge that fight day. JLC gave up money and the beslt wasn't traded.

      • floyd is getting old man thats why he won't have more then 2 fights after the Hatton one in my opinion which means unless its not a huge pay day for him it aint gonna happen. If Hatton Wins Floyd won't get the huge pay days any more.

P.S why is my signature picture small compared to some of the others you lot have as my thingy won't let me have a bigger pic.

And Floyd is already making the excuse that he "likes big money" as a reason not fight the winner of Cotto/Mosley..

Floyd is the only one ducking.
I will say this, if Floyd doesn't fight the winner of that fight I will make a thread every other day that he is ducking them. He will fight Shane if he wins though, they both seem to really want the fight.

Floyd won't like it if you spam the boards, no way.

PBF is going to have a wide speed advantage vs Hatton either way. 2005 or today. Ricky concedes that. But now, Hatton's strength advantage has dissipated....yet PBF retains the speed advantage.

And for those who don't think that Floyd is still fast, please remember this: Oscar was sparring with Shane Mosley for weeks. As soon as the fight was over, Oscar said "wow, he's fast".
Where is your proof that Hatton's strength advantage has dissapated? I dont seem to remember Floyd ever mixing it up at 140 or 147 like he could do at 130 or 135. Hatton will clearly be the stronger of the two fighters and the harder puncher. There was a quote from Oscar after the Mayweather fight where he said something to the effect of "I left my chin hanging all night cos everytime he hit me I didnt feel anything so I was quite happy to take some on the chin to land my own".

Mayweather relies on his speed and natural boxing ability at these higher weights, not strength or power punching.

                • theres only two ways mayweather can win

                  1 - cuts

2 - hope that hatton can`t land on him that often and run around the ring.

i see this fight taking mayweather into places he has never been. he will have to fight at a pace he is not comfortable with and at a weight where his power is negated.

If hatton comes to the fight in his best shape yet, i see him walking floyd down and eventually stopping him in the late rounds.

Then i see every floyd fan in the world crying for a rematch.

Let's be serious, Floyd would box that awkward phenom into a coma.

Williams is a poor man's Mark Breland; my point here is, it's not like there's never been a 6'2" welterweight before. In fact in the 80's there were at least two who were better than Williams

Last summer, Floyd was looking for the fight for his November HBO date. He tried to amke a fight with Shane. After the Vargas rematch, Merchant asked Shane if he would take the mayweather fight.

Shane said "Uh, my tooth, um, er ...vacation". On national TV.
Damn Dios, you were on a roll last night. But I expect you understand that the tooth comment was a way to end the interview to go get medical attention after the fight; that wasn't addressed to the question about Floyd Mayweather, although on here everyone acted like it was.
