well said. i think sugar ray would probly beat him if they ever fought in their primes, but it wouldnt be a KO, IMO.

    • SugarRay had too much hand speed for Floyd, along with his punch output, he would have left Floyd on the defensive all night. SRL by UD.. Not to say Mayweather couldn't beat him though, because he could, but 7 or maybe even 8 times out of 10, I'd give it to Leonard.. If Mayweather beats up a few more champions I might reconsider.

Mayweather is CLEARLY insecure. At least at the thought of people not liking him. Floyd seems in complete denial of the fact that people don't like him very much in places like say; ENGLAND for example..

I agree with him being the pfp right now. My main problem is he doesnt ever fight the best in any divisions. he handpicks his fights to suit his abilities. i mean, i've not really seen hatton look that great at 147, de la hoya is well past being a big threat, arturo gatti was a shell of himself, baldomir was lucky that judah was a headcase and fell apart against him, and, well, judah is a headcase. Floyd needs to fight the guys that get talked about on this board as being the 147 lb best, i.e. margarito (though his wagon may be heading out of town, we will have to see), cotto, cintron, pwill. These guys would give floyd problems and he avoids the hell out of them. SRL fought hearns, hearns fought hagler, guys who are thought of as being GOATs need to step outside their comfort zone, something PBF refuses to do. I like PBF, think he is great, but if he is so great, why does he stick to fighting guys that provide an almost forgone conclusion.

              • No way Floyd would handle Leonard. Can anyone see Floyd standing 12 close rounds with Hagler ? (even past his prime). Would be surprised to see him sign on for the fight and would be shocked if he would have turned up at fight time. Hagler would just walk true Floyds best punches and steamroll him inside 6-7 rounds. To much stamina and pressure for floyd to handle.

How about Hearns ? Doubt Floyd could survive 12 rounds with Hearns heavy artillery bombs. And lets not forget that Hearns also had very good speed.

I'm pretty sure that Tiger Woods feels he's the best ever.

                  Roger Federer may not.

                  Kobe Bryant feels he is.

Barry Bonds feels he is the second best ever.

                  Cael Sanderson knows he is.

Margarito doesn't belong in that conversation. He is not in Floyd's league. Cotto's people have yet to call out Floyd or seek a fight(even though his fans do). Mosley missed his chance in 06 to go on vacation. Hatton is better than Paul Williams BTW. I'd bet Floyd to beat every fighter in his weightclass today. Only the winner of Cotto and Mosley pose a threat. Sorry that we don't have Hearns, Hagler, Duran, Leonard, and others today.

I think hatton might beat pwill at 140, but not 147. I dont think pwill beats cotto, cintron, or marg a second time, but i think his style would be bothersome to floyd. it's more a style thing than pwill being a better fighter thing.
