Eh, no. Mayweather simply does not hit hard enough to make this a reasonable assumption. Oscar was worried more with Floyd's speed than power. Oscar is a little less prone to going through hell to win though, compared to Ricky. Ricky is a nastier dude than Oscar. After Hatton gets hit hard, early and often, he will be verrrry wary about how he comes in.
And at this point in their careers, Oscar's handspeed is not much better than Hatton's if at all...except Hatton throws more punches.Comment

Your right he's gotten stronger but still IMO has the same fighting style. In my opinion you might have a different one but he beat Baldomir and Hoya on speed. De la Hoya had a great chance early when he was jabbing and keeping the pressure on JR. But ultimately tired out.Don't you think the version of mayweather who was moving up from 130 to fight a much bigger Castillo is a far different version of the mayweather who has been fighting the JMW's and MW's?
I think the mistake that hatton is making is that he is banking on a strength advantage that just isn't there. Floyd isn't a big man....but he ain't Cory Spinks. PBF is a strong kid. Especially after training with Kofi Jantuah and Daniel Edouard for Carlos Baldomir and Oscar Delahoya. You don't go hundreds of rounds with big guys just on speed. You get much stronger, too.Comment

I just hope Mayweathers participation in dancing with the stars won't distract him too much. The reason I say that is because that excuse will be used IF he loses.Comment

A wittier man would have said "a guilty conscience needs no accuser".

No excuses for Floyd.
He has always talked about his focus and single-minded dedication to the sport. Several boxers have publicly stated that he is crazy for doing this. And with his ego, i'm sure he heard that criticism and the questioning of his judgment. IMO, he shouldn't dance. Too many hours.
If Floyd loses, neither he nor his fans can use 'Dancing' as an excuse.Comment

I just started a thread on the Oscar/Floyd fight in retrospect. Pls visit.Your right he's gotten stronger but still IMO has the same fighting style. I think Oscar did better when he was just actively boxing - and not "pressuring" - Floyd.Comment
