Popular Misconceptions of Mosley vs. Cotto

I guess thats where I differ from most people here. I dont have any favorite fighters really. I like Augustus, but I'll be the first to admit to you that hes unreliable. I like Golota, or did back in the day, but the guy is nuts. And I dont take anything away from boxers that I dont really care for. FMJ, I dont really like the guy from the way he carries himself, but I respect how good of a boxer he is. I didnt like Corrales, but if someone asked me about him I'd tell them he was good.
Being that I do not care for FMJ I could easily jump the gun and mouth him about how he runs, is scared and such. But its not the truth so I'm not going to speak badly of him just because I dont like him.
A lot of people here have their favorite boxers and they get waayy to defensive over them. And they have the people they dont like, and they will make stuff up and lie about them just because they dont like them. Like Cotto not having power behind his punch? Come on, look at most of the guys faces after he beat them. I guess someone beat them in the face with a baseball bat inbetween rounds.

We can talk about the fact that Cotto ****s up peoples faces or we can look at the overall picture.
Opponents of Miguel Cotto all show signs of exhaustion, difficulty breathing, slowed reflexes and movement... Basically AIDS symptoms.
Cotto beats the **** out of the entire body.
Sure, he catches people in places you're not supposed to punch.
So did ALOT of the old timers..
Nowadays they call that DIRTY tactics.

You would have to be constructing a reality of your own making to look at the growing list of su****ious illegal punches coming from the gloves of Miguel Cotto as the "fault of his opponents" or "recurring accidents."
Is it enough for people to suggest he is a dirty fighter??..
Is that enough to get to you?
It's really just a melodramatic, non-significant, little-cared-about detail that people will throw out there... WHY DOES IT MATTER TO YOU SO MUCH?
Think of it this way - YOU ARE foolishly falling into my trap if all what you're saying is true, and I'm only stewing conjecture.
There is evidence besides.. But alot can get lost in the mind and imagination of a simple manipulator.
This is most certainly NOT amateur hour, Gringo.
You're talking to me.
Don't throw childish and pointless diatribe into the discussion and instigate - and then step back and pretend to be a grownup.. I am a ****ing grownup.
(Yes kids, grownups say "****" and "****" alot..)
The point of this is what, Gringo???.... What is it again???
That must be something else you've already made up your mind about..
If you can't handle criticism of your favorite fighter - avoid me.
You won't like what you hear..
I don't want people thinking that your pirate hooker'esque, blasphemous statements about Cotto being a dirty fighter is true.
I will say, you don't budge an inch. I respect that.
If you come out saying someone is a dirty fighter, and another person calls you out on that, I was pretty sure that you were supposed to use evidence to support that original statement...or just produce that originally. You failed to do that (in my opinion). That's what I am getting at. Show me what you really have here.
The only thing childish about what I have been saying to you are the "get real" and "amateur hour" statements I am assuming. All in fun. Just some **** I would say to you in real life if we were having this conversation. I swear just about as much as anyone I know...it is welcomed. Don't get hung up on thinking I am trying to manipulate the world. This is banter between two folk that think they are right and won't budge.
You're saying I have already made up my mind, but I wouldn't be probing like this if I did that. I'd call you a know nothing and I'd stop responding to you...that would have happened long ago. You and DLT must get along well.
I seem to remember getting into another one of these Cotto disputes with you on another topic. It's not that I don't like what I hear so much, but I like to take a counter-stance against bold points like, "Cotto is a dirty fighter."

Time for marketing and law.
I fully expect some slicing and dicing when eventually read this again though.

I have to focus on this for a second. You already stated that Quintana turned into that punch and got what was coming. I can only assume that you keep that in mind when you say Cotto throws suspect punches. So... Other than that, you can only really cite the Judah fight and the Urkal fight. Both were rough fights. Cotto hit Judah low twice (the second being worse). You could say that was Cotto being a dirty fighter or you could say that low blows happen. You can find about 10 people in the world that think Cotto was fighting dirty in the Urkal fight. You are one, 5 of them are on Urkals teams, and the other 4 live in Germany. Urkal was looking for a way out all night and head butted Cotto about half a dozen times when he wasn't holding him. Cotto hardly hit this guy on the back. That rubbish you have posted from Urkals manager was a bunch of flank steak. He threw in the towel because of OPEN SCORING. Urkal was all but out of the fight and he was being battered otherwise. Why put your fighter in harms way much longer?
Time for marketing and law.

Although again; I think we're having some trouble linking up..
I'm not interested in trying to convince a staunch Cotto fan/supporter that his guy is a dirty fighter. That won't work anyways now will it?..
He LOW BLOWED Corley, Torres, and Judah.
He's punched MANY MANY MANY of his opponents IN THE BACK including Quintana, Urkal, and Judah..
All accidents right, Gringo???
I can dig into his earlier fights - but is that even fair of me?
Are you and this debate worth my ****ing effort? Not completely, Gringo.
IT'S THERE, GRINGO. I don't need to find 30 bodies to know I have a serial offender - all I need is 3 or 5 to know there's a problem.
Your favorite fighter Miguel Cotto is DIRTY by any reasonable definition..
Happy now?

Also, you've been focusing on Quintana..
Have another look from a different angle.
Quintana barely turned and Cotto's punch was almost in the middle of his back. It's up to the beholder - but in my eyes; either way Cotto was going to hit him in the back. KNOWINGLY.
Not every pro hits a guy in the back just because they can see it..

Look, if I give you my back is that still a legal target area?
