Now, Shane himself will tell you that one of his greatest strengths is his mental toughness and tenacity. That he always gives "150%."
But is that always the case? Evidence would seem to indicate otherwise.
He can be broken and has.
Cotto's Punching Power
Miguel Cotto is commonly viewed as one of the harder punching pros.
But is he?
On one hand you have a track record that would seem to indicate that Cotto is in fact merely a volume puncher. On the other; you have evidence to suggest the placement/innacuracy of Cotto's punches is what cuts down on his one punch knockout numbers. Perhaps he is only a millimeter/adjustment away from taking Mosley's head off.
Cotto may not hit as hard, or even harder than can be immediately realized.
Mosley's Age
Shane Mosley is 36. How much will his age show against a younger all body destroyer like Miguel Cotto?
No matter how you cut it - a nearly 10 year age seniority gap is never an advantage in this sport. And it's even less of an advantage against an opponent who is known for breaking stuff.
The real question is; has Mosley shown any indication of slippage or wear? Because he appeared to reaclimate to 147 like a fish to water in his last outing. Reflexes check, speed check, agility check.
Let's face it - age is sometimes nothing but a number. Even in this sport.
The Hungrier Fighter
Miguel Cotto, right?
It is Miguel who is the younger hungrier of the two. That's logic.
However, Shane Mosley has spent a great deal of time talking recently about his intention to reclaim P4P #1 status (yes, he's been there already) and his desire to establish himself as the best fighter of his era. This era.
Shane Mosley is a man on a mission.
And by my estimation not only hungry; but starving.
Carry on.
and think mosley isnt too strong mentally

It's like George Foreman power, Cotto has
compared to Mike Tyson power
he's not even the most powerful puncher in his division
he's a solid volume puncher
but he's not a knockout powerful one punch killer
as far as the fight goes its a toss up
but im leaning towards cotto because im not sure which mosley will show up
mosley is a game fighter im not questioning his abilities
but we may see an old mosley in this fight
i dont really care for either fighter but i wouldnt mind seeing cotto win because if that happens more than likely we can see cotto vs mayweather
that is if mayweather is able to defeat hatton
