Why is mma discussed so much in this boxing forum.???

    He's made that statement a few times. The point being you know better and I know better but casual fans (the bread and butter of any fight sport) don't. Now is the UFC and MMA in general in competition with boxing? I think so. Competition is good and should ideally result in competitors fighting to put out a better product. Fight fans dollars decide who wins in the end.

      boxing fans seem to care a lot more ... only way you dont care is if you are a fan of both (like myself)

        I haven't seen that so much. Most boxing fans don't seem to have more than peripheral awareness of mma. And to most casual fans UFC is MMA. White's name dropped both boxers, boxing and issued challenges.

        I don't recall a single boxer ever issuing a challenge to any MMA fighter to compete against them under Queensbury rules ever. That said, I like MMA as a whole and like boxing some UFC fights are better than others.

            Simply because MMA is gaining popularity and Boxing fans feel threatened.

            With big money and its rich history, Boxing isn't going anywhere. Don't worry.
