The fight was ****ing awful between these two, Rampage won. Bisping had a gift decision, actually it was a flat out robbery. UFC can pick any winner it likes because they deciede who gets a contract and who gets paid what, unlike boxing where a boxer has a choice who he goes with.
Where is Boxing’s Version of Rampage-Henderson?

I believe the main point of the article was that the UFC is having a unification fight (of sorts), and the author is asking where boxing's unification fights are at. At issue also is that holding a title belt in the UFC means something - they are not dismissed as "trinkets" by fans as they are in boxing. In boxing no one cares diddly dink about who holds what belt or if a belt is even on the line in a fight because they mean so little. Not so in the UFC. The only thing that would be surprising to me in boxing is if there is a fight where there wasn't some trinket belt on the line.
In the UFC, if you are not good enough to beat one of the 5 champions, that's it, you're not good enough. Period. You can't run off and get some other belt and then brag that you're the champion by never actually beating the champion, which is what we see in boxing all the time. In the UFC you either beat the 1 champion of your weight class or you don't and if you don't, no belt for you, you just have to wait for the champ to retire or slip up against someone else.
That and the UFC is a marketing giant, they knew how to market their product as the new hip thing to the next generation, while boxing was standing still.
The UFC has been great for boxing. The terrific fights we are seeing this year may never have happened if not for the pressure the UFC was putting on boxing. Boxing was caught napping with peddling trash fights to the public and the UFC jumped on it.
In the end, if boxing is having some popularity problems, don't point the finger at MMA. Boxing has no one to blame but itself. Don't push the blame off on MMA for a situation boxing created itself.Comment

I am pretty sure the writer is trying to specify the fact that the UFC is showing such an important, maybe THE most important match in it's entire history on regular TV, for free. Boxing hasn't done anything of the sort recently, and he is asking why, hell aren't we all asking why?Comment

UFC 75 breakdown
overall I think it was a pretty card .. keep in mind there were 5 total fights .. when do you ever see that on a live boxing event? how about never?
the first 2 fights lasted a little over a minute .. pretty exciting too
3rd fight ... hey I find Bisping entertaining, but the guys a ****ing prick ... says he outboxed Hamill when its HIS face marked up under both eyes
show a little bit more class next time. (only way Bisping loses in his hometown is by knockout)
Mirko Cro Cop .. would it surprise anyone on here if I told you that Cro Cop was a kick boxer for quite some time?
he just looks out of his element in the Octagon
and the main event was aight. After that first round it looked like Henderson was gonna take it easily .. but Rampage truly showed heart and won the late rounds to get the decision.
glad he won .. cuz come on how lame is a one and done champ?Comment

Rampage is one of my fav fighters in any sport, did you hear his post fight commentary "I can't believe he beat up ma fist with his face" lmao that dude is hilarious.Comment

It wasnt terrible. Henderson has always been my favorite fighter. It was more or less a wrestling match, but I like wrestling.
Matt definately was robbed in the fight with Bisping, despite his standup being sloppy as ****. Hes a bull though, that guy. if he actually wrestled hed be more boring in most fan's eyes, but he would be much more effective. great wrestling ability and strength.
The point of the article was basically that there should be big fights on ESPN or a simliar channel. which I would LOVE to see, I lose so much money on all these fights I buy...
but anyways they should make big fights on ESPN. I agree.
I have to say though, I will be much more excited about Pavlik vs. Talyor, hahaha.

and you can't just look at the main event .. to judge the WHOLE show
sure it wasn't the most exciting fight in the world (rampage-henderson).. a bit more wrestling true.
but don't look at just the main event, look at it as UFC 75 the whole show ... it was very good. (the only thing lagging were those tedious commercial breaks)
*whens the last time a boxing card put on 3 entertaining fights all in the same show?
ok the Gatti-Gomez, Cintron-Mattseyy and P-Will-Margairito triple header was sick as hell .. but thats one of the only I can think of
and even the above was 3 fights .. at 2 diff arenasComment
