What I saw in that video is Hatton hugging and outlanding Urango something like 5 to 2. It might be ugly but he surely knows how to do it.

Ricky says that he's an exciting fighter, and all of the Hattonettes goose-step to that.

I can understand if somebody says that they thought PBF-baldomir and PBF-oscar were not exciting fights. I happen to like technical skill (and, Technical Skill). I don't expect every boxing fan to appreciate the same. It would have been ****** for FMJ go stand and trade with bigger men. To prove what? To whom? That isn't a winning strategy. Even Vernon Forrest didn't stand and trade with baldomir. Gatti tried to trade with baldo and was demolished.

But for the Hattonettes to call Floyd a "runner" or to criticize the style of ANY other fighter is ridiculous. Have they seen their own man fight? Those beer (ale?) goggles can't be that clouded, can they?

What was "exciting" about the Collazo fight? About Urango? Phillips? 95% of Castillo? Hell, the Tszyu fight was one of the ugliest bouts that I have ever seen.

The typical Hatton fight is equivalent to watching two mediocre guys on a UFC undercard. I keep expecting a Kimura.

      Glass houses, ladies. Glass houses.
The only criticism I have of Mayweather is his disrespect for fighters past and present. It's all well and good talking trash prior to an up-coming bout. Goes with the territory where many boxers are concerned. Mayweather belittles some of the games true legends when his legacy simply doesn't stand up to some of his peers.

He's a very good fighter, possibly a great fighter. Whether someone is a fan of Hatton or a hater of Floyd, if they know their salt they wouldn't diss his skills.

Oh and BTW...I'm no Hattonite and if making subjective points deems me as such then hang me.

I have yet to break any windows.

        Maxy,

I can actually talk to you because you are not in the "floyd and spinks are running ***** boys who will get KOd just like Jones" crew.

I notice that you are into hip-hop. Are you familiar with Messiahbolical?

Absolutely. And I don't begrudge a man for winning how he needs to.

I would rather win ugly than lose pretty.

Similarly, if Mayweather realizes that he had to change his style from an aggressive stance to a more cautious/mobile posture to fight bigger men, I accept that also.

          There are two different approaches:

          1) "I'm not a welterweight. I'm going back to 140."

          2) "I'm not a welterweight. But I can fight these guys if I fight this way"

Which one do you respect more?

Messiahbolical? No, haven't heard of him but shall check him out.

As for the Hatton-Castillo fight. It wasn't anything amazing but I thought he looked better than he has done for a while. We agree it was a great finisher to the body though don't we?

Anyway, I'm off to have a night out with the wife. Gonna miss the Witter fight.....damn women.

None of the two, if I cannot do it "this way" i'll just go back to 140 (Haton fighting elusively... come on). I respect fighters, regardless of the styles'.

well, Ricky chose path #1. Floyd chose path #2.

                    Clinch clinch clinch. He sucks.
But I do respect him for the fact that he fought outside his country unlike some of the boxers over there.....Calzaghe for example.
Well said!! I may not like Hatton style but I give him all my repect because he is fighting outside his country. Even though we may not like Hatton's style we gotta respect the fact that he is trying to build a legacy...Unlike Calzaghe that worthless bum

i think calzaghe is a whole lot better than hatton, even if he doesn't leave his home town
