I went back and counted. The ref had to separate a clinch 13 times in that round. A round is 6o x 3mins = 180 seconds.

180 / 13 = approx 14.

The ref had to step in every 14 seconds to separate a clinch. Every clinch was initiated by Hatton.

I'm not gonna hate on a guy for fighting the style that he needs to win. As long as it's legal. But the groupies who are cheering have apparently never seen real BOXING.

Let's just see it for what it is.

Well for me this clip is a solid example of Hatton at his very worst. It's ugly.
Perhaps Hatton has peaked and is already on the down slide because this holding/hugging stuff has been getting worse. No doubt about it.

Could also be because his opposition has become steadily stronger.

I hate any excuses made by boxers but for the Urango fight Hatton claimed to have had flu. Think it was the Urango fight anyway. Maybe it was true.

All I know is he looked a lot better against Castillo and the finishing body shot would hurt even PBF. December 8th will either define Hatton or destroy him win or lose.

We'll see.

I think I mentioned that Hatton is a good fighter. Also, if any hatred shows through, it is more frustration with the Hattonettes who slavishly drool at his every word.

Ricky says that he's an exciting fighter, and all of the Hattonettes goose-step to that.

I can understand if somebody says that they thought PBF-baldomir and PBF-oscar were not exciting fights. I happen to like technical skill (and, Technical Skill). I don't expect every boxing fan to appreciate the same. It would have been ****** for FMJ go stand and trade with bigger men. To prove what? To whom? That isn't a winning strategy. Even Vernon Forrest didn't stand and trade with baldomir. Gatti tried to trade with baldo and was demolished.

But for the Hattonettes to call Floyd a "runner" or to criticize the style of ANY other fighter is ridiculous. Have they seen their own man fight? Those beer (ale?) goggles can't be that clouded, can they?

What was "exciting" about the Collazo fight? About Urango? Phillips? 95% of Castillo? Hell, the Tszyu fight was one of the ugliest bouts that I have ever seen.

The typical Hatton fight is equivalent to watching two mediocre guys on a UFC undercard. I keep expecting a Kimura.
