Everyone knows that this guy is $in, right?
The greatness of Ricky Hatton

I haven't seen the list of guys who can beat Floyd. Why is Hatton not an elite fighter? Is it because of his record? Who is an elite fighter who can challenge or be even a threat to Floyd almighty? Floyd never had a close fight?I have listed the guys who can beat PBF. Floyd is far from unbeatable.
But I want to pull the skirts off the Hatton groupies in advance of the fight.
I don't want you ladies saying that anyone thought Hatton was an elite fighter or a threat. It is more satisfying to first tell you that Hatton is vastly overrated, and then to have it abjectly demonstrated to you.
You chicks tend to be history revisionists.
And I am not even picking Hatton to win. I am not even sure if there are 10 people on this board that are picking Hatton or anybody else up to 154 to beat Mayweather. So that automatically means that nobody is an elite enough fighter for Floyd? In that case Floyd should retire and be proclaimed the greatest fighter in the history of boxing. After all, haven't all the greats done that.Comment

You seem to have a good command of the English language. Yet, you haven't mastered the word "or". I said that hatton is not an elite fighter OR a threat. It doesn't mean that you must be able to beat Floyd to qualify as an elite fighter.
Here are the guys who I feel are legitimate threats to beat Floyd:
Obviously, Winky. I thought FMJ was insane for even mentioning Wright's name at 154.
Vernon Forrest. He is tall, quick-handed and has good defense. In order to beat PBF, you have to be able to control the distance. You need to be able to land your shots, but somehow avoid the stuff coming back. Forrest seems healthy, showed good stamina vs Baldo, and has solid power (right, Shane?).
When Williams realizes that you are allowed to move your head while boxing, I would give him a very good shot. He needs to learn how to use his length to his advatage better. Kinda how Hearns controlled Ray from a distance.
I used to think that Sechew Powell (tall southpaw with quick, heavy hands) would take Floyd apart. But he lost lustre for me after he showed no heart in the Ouma fight.
Those are a few examples.
The fights that PBF has struggled in: Castillo 1 and Delahoya. Many of the Hatton groupies erroneously analyze why those fights were close. It wasn't just "the swarming" or whatever. In both instances, Floyd was fighting much larger men at a new weight. More importantly, those larger men were also very good boxers. Complete fighters. And I'm talking about prime Castillo. Not that shell that hatton KO'd. That wasn't the same guy at all.
What people seem to overlook is that FMJ rematched Castillo immediately and proved who the better man was. And is there anybody who has doubts about what would happen in a DLH rematch? When's that Hatton/Collazo rematch?
Additionally, when has Floyd been hit hard? By Corley and by Judah. And Sharmba nailed him. Notice a trend? Yeah... he has shown a vulnerability (early in fights) against southpaws.
I consider myself a reasonably knowledgeable, and objective boxing fan. Even when discussing my favourite fighters (casamayor, Pac, FMJ, Guzman, Ouma). I keep it real.
So, that is a quickie analysis of where I think PBF's weaknesses are. He is far from indestructible. But Hatton just isn't bringing a good **** to this fight.Comment
