Floyd is no de la hoya....

    Through 38 fights:

    Mayweather:

    2 gift decisions
    2 tough fights

    De La Hoya:

    2 robbery losses
    6-7 tough fights

If Mayweather fights the caliber of opponents Oscar fought for his last 5, what results will we see?(he's taking a step in the right direction now)

The way I see it, Mayweather should not be fighting to become an all time great, he should be fighting first to earn his way out of oscar's shadow...then we can start talking. As of now, he hasnt proven anything when we have a warrior like Oscar standing right there.

I haven't seen mayweather get any gift decisions actually. Don't say cas because that was a close fight that he actually won IMO, a contreversial decision, not a gift one.

You said one of the oddest things I have ever heard, since when is fighting to get out of Oscar's shadow more important than fighting to become an all time great.

You're right, PBF is no DLH. DLH doesn't have half the boxing skills and ring-savyness that PBF has (plus he could only win 3 rounds against a fighter who could still EASILY make 140 whike ODLH couldn't even make 150 if he tried).

Lets see Mayweather fight that level of competition and prove to do differently as he has not DONE already, thats the point of the post and all I ask.

                    TWO gift decisions???

I pray to god you dont think DLH is one of them, DLH was soundly beaten by Mayweather, and DLH just so happens to be much much much bigger then Mayweather.

Mayweather has been fighting against biggers guys lately, and he hasnt looked good. But go back to the Judah fight, he looked fantastic. And then look at nearly every single fight before that...
