    2) Gatti didn't avoid the elite fighters? He spent essentially his entire career (ten years) at 135/140. How did he NOT fight Casamayor, Corrales, Corley, Vivian, NDou, Raheem, Forbes, Campbell, Witter, Mosley, Judah AND Cotto, Tszyu, Freitas, etc, etc?

Doesn't that seem odd to you?
Those aren't ELITE fighters, except KT and Mosley. Most of them were next-to-elite fighters who weren't worth it from a business standpoint. Gatti fought DLH and Mayweather, that's what I was talking about.

Gatti was second-tier all those years, no need for those guys to fight him anyway except for the money. There's no problem or confusion here. (Take N'Dou and Witter out anyway, who are a big step down from the others you mention)

I wouldn't really complain that Gatti was afraid to test himself against top guys because he got pummeled by Oscar and PBF, after having lost to inferior fighters. The reason he never fought more of the top guys is he struggled with lesser fighters and lost to some very good, but not elite fighters. He'd take a few steps forward and fall back down again.
Listen to this guy, Dios. It wasn't about race, he fought the black fighters who were good fights for him, guys like Robinson who is still a washed-up headliner among the same exact crowds who supported Gatti. To me Gatti was a regional (Jersey, Philly, NY, etc.) fighter, which is the truth of what you said in the first post. The fact that he made a stink on HBO and guys on here called him "Hall of Fame" is not his fault at all.

        .
If we are at the point of naming three guys in ten years, then that is telling. Especially if two of those guys are named Ivan robinson and Terron Millett.

It's all good. But, if you are going to criticize any one fighter for "avoiding the best", then criticize all of them. Especially guys who have an HBO slot.

You're making something of nothing. Who are the guys you're indirectly defending in here? Mayweather, b/c his career and Gatti's are incomparable. It's like telling me my alma mater are ducking Florida in football if I tell you USC are. Don't be like $iN, MAKE YOUR POINT DIRECTLY, NOT BY BASHING GUYS WHO ARE OUT OF THE PICTURE.

That is a very fair perspective. I respect that.

It's just that my Santero asked me to expose Gatti.

Honestly? I just needed my boy, Casamayor, to get one of those big Gatti checks back in the day. . I'm still bitter about that.

Vdenezuela dropped 21 runs on the Dutch in the LLWS.

Fair claim; now if you made a thread in Fantasy Fights about Gatti-Casa you might not like the results.
