And there were plenty of other great middleweights out there who might not have been considered as champion, especially in the 80's, 50's, 60's, even the early 90's.

many of the old scholl fighters are overrated IMO.

each era have different styles of fighters as well as mentalitiy. so why compare thing from the past because you cant know anything intell you lived that era to know greater detials about the fighter and inside story which today thank God to the internet we have it.

for boxing to improve there should be more of the cross atlantic fighter coming over and some USA and mexician fighter going aboard regularly.

They should make some prospect competition which is like the contender but in a different way like 3 four-round fight which make it a 12 round with 3 different fighters similar to K-1, with prospect around the world from Africa to Britian to US to centeral and Latin Amercia as was as Asian countries

              Historically speaking he simply sucks.

He would be soundly beaten by all the ring champions of the past 25 years, including a prime Hopkins.

Hopkins was slipping by the time he fought Joppy, he could not fight 8 rounds at a sustained pace by the time he fought Taylor, how did you expect him to win throwing two punches a round.

Prime Hopkins loses a couple of rounds becasue of Taylor decent 1-2, gets in and does him in BAD.

That's ridiculous, Taylor would easily be champ in any era of the middleweights, I honestly don't know why people underrate him. He has two wins over Hopkins, one of the best fighters this world has brought, a draw over Wright, an extremely tough fighter to beat for anyone, If he can do that, he has a good chance to beat any middleweight in history.

                    wrong call

La Motta must have had underrated defense since he was rarely cut for an italian forward coming fighter. La Motta was strong enough to bully most fighters around the ring and was good on the inside.

Taylor has as win over 40 year old Hopkins who could not fight a 12 rounder at a pace, Taylor main asset is activity/athleticism. I picked Taylor to beat Hopkins, only becasue Hopkins was old.

All of the fights you mentioned were close, arguably gifts. (except Hopkins 2 which he clearly won)

                      Hopkins of 2000 murders him.
                      Toney and Jones mureder him.
Nunn makes him look silly and possibly stops him too.
80s Hagler walks him down and stops him.
70s Hagler makes him look silly with righ hand counters and inside game.
Monzon does him in so bad it is not even funny.

Antuofermo and Minter he has a good chance againt.
Griffith and Benvenuti are smaller men moving up so maybe he can beat them.
                      Tiger beats him easy.

How he fares against Pavlik will tell more about what he can do with the brawlers faced by Robinson in his ON-OFF reign at 160.
