You can't 'name no names' because there isnt one.

I take it you have this knowledge on good authority to just be asking me to just 'trust you.' Just for the sake of posterity though could you name just 1 middleweight champion that you could at least argue Taylor is better than

most of the old school fighters are abit overrated in my opion in there time people look and say he only fough bum after couple of year every fight he made was turned into hall of fame fight.

Taylor came in an era where boxing wasnt as mainstream as it was before. He got some decent fights. They time when Talyor abadon his jab he abadon his greatness

well there is many thing they old schooler have it easier.

1- The gloves which lighter than today gloves
2- Todays fighters are alway compared to the oldschool which is not fair in my opion
                3- Mainstream media coverage
4- steriod, these days there is more check up then back then.

I know that retirment makes a person to the top on example is Hopkins people hated him even during the Taylor fight but then he retire couple month and comeback and he is the people hero. everybody forgot his clinching, hit and holding, throwing of the PR flag...etc now they remeber him as the person who beat Tarver

Your saying fighters in the past had it easier, when alot of them, good fighters at that had to fight like twice a month with injuries and ****, working a side job just to make a living, and you have to fight a Ray Robinson 5 times before you get a title shot.

and also there was no television for the most part at least in the 50's.

one of the most ridiculous statements ever. even into the 80's and 90's you had to f**ing fight to be champion, non of this **** like Taylor vs Spinks.

                    Taylor Hopkins
                    Hopkins Eastman
                    Hopkins De La Hoya

two fight a month and the other guy he is fighting with has the same disadvantage so it doesnt make a difference. and they could be using steriod or crack to not feel the pain but now the rule and doping regulation is much stricter

and in the 50s they had radio people where intersted still intersted in it.

to fight 5 time thing is because LaMotta pissed someone big.

and most people are comparing or putting side to side todays boxers with them all the time and one good example is this thread.
