nah the prime shane at 135 was a monster and he has moved up in weight better than floyd, as i said shanes been a victim of time:

at 135 there was no one in his class, then finally floyd, castillo, corrales, freitas and casmayor move up when shane is offered the de la hoya fight....shane also losses the opportunity to fight Tszyu... and after beating DLH, Tszyu isnt willing to move up to 147...de la hoya dissapears for months, Trinidad has already moved up, Quartey retires... no one in his class at 147 except the guy who has his nuber, vernon forrest and Shane survived the ass kicking, cam back and made it a close fight the second time....but he couldnt overcome the style.. he moved up 154 and de la hoya proved shane's style wasnt good against taller bigger fast 154 pounders...
and now shane finally has a chance to prove he is great vs Cotto and Floyd but he may be too old to do so...

as you see Shane has ****ing bad luck...

DLH in his prime was great, till 160 he only lost to Shane and avanged that loss IMO... He was very succesful in moving up in wieght, sure has had close fights but he won most of them IMO, he beat Pernell, he beat Quartey he beat Tito, he beat Shane, he beat Vargas..... doesnt get better than that if you ask me...

      Pbf/srl.

My argument about PBF/SRL is thus:

You can't simultaneously praise Leonard as a fighter and criticize PBF's style. Because in Leonard's (arguably) two best wins, WHAT STYLE did he fight?

How did he fight Duran 2? How did he fight Hagler?

I have seen both those fights several times. Ray wasn't trying to be aggressive. He wasn't trying to finish anyone off. He was content to use his speed, footwork and elusiveness and to try to frustrate his opponent. In fact, he was LESS aggressive than PBF has been in his fights.

Was it smart? Absolutely. You don't slug it out with stronger men. SRL learned that it Montreal. Ray only turned slugger vs Hearns because he was being outboxed, and was behind on the cards ("You're blowing it , son. You're blowing it.")

PBF and SRL on on the same level. Ray had more power. PBF has the better defense and boxing ability. Both have "A" chins.

DLH lost to Mosley and Trinidad and some say should of lost to Quartey and Whitaker. He lost all of his notable fights, including against Floyd. This, along with your accurate assessment of Mosley, omitting Winky, there is nothing that pushes them ahead of PBF.. SRR/SRL > Floyd/RJJ > DLH/Mosley....

Shane is probably the most overrated 135er of all time. All I keep hearing is that to be the best, you have to beat the best. OK. Fine.

Who did Shane beat at 135?? Who has Shane beaten... period?? Oscar?

And this is coming from somebody who had been, and remains, a Shane fan. But I can be objective.

Let's get something straight, Pretty Boy's best work was at 130 and 135.The fights after Castillo are garbage with the exception of taking on ODLH. Sosa,NDou,Corley ,Bruselles,Gatti,Mitchell,Judah,Baldomir is not great opposition. The best of those guys is Judah but who really has he beaten besides the murderous punching Spinks. Mayweather remains undefeated and gets belts but lets be realistic, Gatti would not of had a belt had Tzsyu not been stripped.Baldomir had a belt by beating inconsistent fighter but consistent loser in Judah. mayweather gets props for his work at 130 and 135 but post 135 fights and opponents are borderline c material.

Exactly, so we really dont know how good he was.
He fought poor opposition, nothing compared to fighting Castillo, Corrales and Hernandez like Floyd did.

If you concede that the Quartey and Whitaker wins are questionable, then you defeat your own cause, and of course the last resort is to ad hominem attack what I post. This however, is a classic straw man fallacy, I never stated who I thought won, only who did win and the wins of Oscar's that I saw as questionable.
