Notice they were champions. PBF, as mad as it makes you, doesn't fight who YOU want him to. He fights for legacy. And money, of course. So what better than take the belts? Opinions on who was the better fighter of each era will vary, who was the champion will be written and never to be changed. That's why he moved all way tru 130 to 154 (last fight) defeating all champions.

Perfect answer. Take up for a guy that dodges any meaningful fights and ****s the sport for millions in the process! Yeah, belts mean somthing to fair weathered fans, but true boxing loyalist know the truth behind those belts.

Well... I would say his legacy is probably somewhere the time when he fought in the 130 pound weight class. I mean, he did fight 27 out of 38 fights there, and he beat some great fighters there, such as Genaro Hernandez, Diego Corrales and Jesus Chavez. There are some boxers that have their legacy defined at their original weight class. Someone said something about this guy being really good at lightweight, and still good at other weights, but not quite as good. I don't know if you've heard of him though, his name is like Roberto Duran or something like that.

Regardless, even if those fighters that he has fought at the upper weightclasses aren't grade A fighters, it's not like that was the public perception when he signed those fights. N'dou was majorly hyped as a badass before Floyd fought him. All of his fights at 140 were setting up for Gatti or fighting Gatti, which was a career move to get himself onto the PPV scene, which worked pretty damn well, don't you think? There was no discussion about Zab Judah being shot when Floyd fought him... the perception of him at that time was that he came off a bad night against Baldomir and he looked spectacular when he knocked Cory Spinks out the fight before. His fight against Baldomir was not bad either, because a lot of people thought Carlos Baldomir was the real deal, and had a realistic chance to win that fight. Even though a lot of this **** has since been proven ridiculous, it's not like Floyd had the luxury of peering into the future and see that these fighters were going to have their careers drop dead.

By the way, I don't give a **** how you scored Mayweather-Castillo I, Mayweather won the second fight clearly, so that should probably erase most of the doubt about who was the better fighter between the two. The first fight is super ****ing close, and the second fight is not all that close for Floyd... how are you going to tell me that Castillo got the better of those two fights?

well did you forget de la hoya?

6 time champion in 5 weight classes...

mayweather (in my opinion) couldnt even beat oscar past his prime (ie. May 5th).

i agree with the guy who posted above you...i had de la hoya infront after 12 rounds (115-113).

So dont act like mayweather is some supernatural god.

he's a great fighter and does have a legacy BUT dont go washing his balls for him.

Two judges saw it a win. De La Hoya was one round on one card away from a draw according to official scores.
